This is everything you need for canning (aside from the pot and mason jars). I just pretty much every tool that came in this kit. The ones I find especially useful are: - the magnetic lid grabber (so you don't touch lids and potentially contaminate them) - the funnel (makes filling mason jars much easier and less messy) - the stirrer/gap measurer (helps to avoid under/overfilling jars, and lets you remove air bubbles) Obviously the grabbing/lifting tools are essential too for removing and placing the mason jars into the boiling water. Everything has been study and help up well to my use, easy to clean when I am finished working, and I expect they will be durable enough to last for many years of use.

This set is just about everything you might need for canning but the jars and pot. The jar lifter works great for taking the hot jars out of the hot water. The magnet stick is perfect for getting the metal lids and rings out of the hot water too. The funnel works great for loading the jars. The only item I didn't use was the stick with the zigzag edge. I'm not sure what it was for but I lost it the first time I washed the items so it was just as well. The jar holder was great for holding the hot jars while putting the rings on. Everything fit back in the box for storage too. Very nice set of canning tools.

I have a set for myself and bought another set for my aunt when she was using a fork to get can lids out of boiling water. The magnet in this set is so much safe than any other utensil! The jar lifter and wide funnel make canning much easier.

Everything is great except the jar tongs, they don’t grip as securely as I would like. But they work for a hobby canner!
