Very satisfied with this compact powerful drill driver!
For $99, this is a bargain. It's a compact, versatile little drill driver. It has a little work light on the front which is nice. The 20V batteries are much smaller than the old 12V that I replaced, which gives you a much lighter tool. One of my favorite things about DeWalt tools is that if you do encounter an issue covered by warranty, they will just replace your tool without a lot of hassle. The tool bag is bigger than it has to be, so it can accommodate my bit case and any other tools you might need for a job around the house.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful, Reliable, and Perfect for Fencing!
I recently bought the DEWALT 20V Max Cordless Drill Driver Set to fix my fence, and I couldn't be happier with the performance. Here are a few reasons why I highly recommend this set. Dual Battery Advantage. This package is a fantastic value because it comes with not one, but two batteries. Having a backup ready to go means you never have to stop working to wait for a charge, though I barely needed the second one! Unstoppable Power. The high-performance motor is the real deal. I was impressed that the drill never lost a bit of power from the start of my fence project until the very end. It drives screws into thick wood effortlessly without stalling. Built-in LED Work Light. The integrated light is a lifesaver for working in shadows or as the sun starts to go down. It illuminates exactly where you’re drilling so you don't miss your mark. Compact & Ergonomic. Despite its power, the drill is well balanced and the grip is very comfortable. Even after hours of working on the fence, my hand didn't feel fatigued. 2 Speed Versatility. The 2 speed transmission allowed me to switch to high torque for the heavy duty fence posts and high speed for the smaller pilot holes. Bottom Line. If you need a reliable, "workhorse" drill that won't quit on you mid-project, this is it. Highly Recommended!

An explanation of Unit Watts Out
This drill is a beast. DEWALT products have never let me down, and so far this drill is no exception. First of all, it's an amazing deal. At nearly $90 for one replacement battery, even just the two 1.5mah batteries that this unit comes with should be more expensive than the whole kit. Instead for just over $100 you get two batteries, a fast charger, a soft case and the of course the drill. Frankly if I had other DEWALT 20V tools, I'd buy this kit just for the batteries. This drill is a no-nonsense drill. There are very few bells and whistles, just a workhorse powerful drill with great batteries. It's extremely small and lightweight, probably half of the weight I'm used to holding with normal NiCad battery drills. However after getting used to the lighter weight of the battery, it feels balanced and stable, with a good fit for my larger hands. But it has at least the same amount of punch of a bigger heavier drill, lasting longer with no fade. I love that this drill performs at 100% and dies quickly - the performance is strong until the end. And with the fast charger, by the time battery A is dead, battery B is fully charged and ready to go. The batteries also seem to hold their charge for indefinite periods of time. One feature I like is the light (the one bell and/or whistle this drill has). I've had other drills with lights - that's nothing new. However, in a few different models, the light would only operate when the trigger was being pulled. If I'm lining up a bit or a screw in a circumstance that requires light, it's not easy to do if the drill is spinning. This light stays on for ~10 seconds after the trigger is released, allowing you to tap the trigger to engage the light, line up the bit or screw, and resume drilling/driving. The build quality is great. The drill feels solid and strong. My only complaint is the plastic chuck. While I've had no trouble getting up to 1/2" bits into the chuck firmly, it feels cheap - much cheaper than the black metal DEWALT chuck I'm used to. But I guess with this product they had to cut corners somewhere, and if I can still firmly grip a bit, I don't care what the chuck is made out of. Note: DEWALT seems to be measuring their drills in Unit Watts Out, rather than in/lbs. While this makes sense, as UWO supposedly takes into account both speed and torque, it's confusing. According to this article on ProToolReviews (http://www.protoolreviews.com/buying-guides/max-watts-out/13109/), in/lbs can be approximately calculated with the following formula: Speed (RPM) x Torque (inch pounds) / 560 = Max Watts Out (estimated). Note that you must use the lower speed to get the higher torque reading. At 300 UWO, that puts this drill at about 373in/lbs in the low speed setting - not the best, but not bad. Certainly there are more powerful drills, but this one is certainly competitive, and with a name like DEWALT, I felt it was the best bang for my buck. I have yet to be proven wrong.

Good power for the price
Great drill. Charged it up and drilled 6 1/4 inch holes into steel plate. Plenty of power and used only one of the batteries that only lost 25 power. Look forward to using this tool.

Happy DIYer !
I purchased two of these in April of this year (2026). First thing I did was take apart all 4 batteries and I did confirm they are genuine Dewalts. Using my Dewalt 20v fan I cycled (discharged/charged) the batteries several times with no issues, each took about 40 minutes to recharge. Using these on a bathroom project and so far so good. Plenty enough power for drill bits, hole saws, uni-bits and installing drywall screws. My run times are short, so I can’t comment how long it would drain a battery for continues drilling through hard surfaces like metals. Out of curiosity, I tried my 6AH batteries on these two drills and my 2 other work DCD771’s (purchased 3 years ago), all 4 instantly start to have a burnt electrical smell. So its a no-go using 6AH batteries. Other than that, its an awesome deal for a weekend DYIer like myself.

Great for ice fishing
Using this to operate a 7 inch ice fishing auger. Bought it along with an adaptor for the auger. It still blows my mind that these battery operated drills are powerful enough to drill holes through the ice as well as gas powered augers. Ice got to as much as 16 inches thick here this winter, cut like butter. This drill came with 2 batteries and a charger. Second battery is nice as the first one did about 7-10 holes (and hours of very cold temps) before it started to peter out a bit. You may want to get a more powerful battery if you drill a lot more holes. Overall very satisfied, great performance, so much lighter than a gas drill and much easier than a hand drill. One piece of advice: keep the drill and adaptor handle propped against your side or hip. If the drill blade catches, the spin and torque can strain your wrist.

Great all-around cordless drill.
A solid, reliable drill that handles almost every basic DIY job with ease. It has plenty of power, good battery life, and feels comfortable to use. If you only want one cordless drill for most household projects, this is an excellent choice.

Good purchase
Pleased with product - exactly as advertised. I am a tough tool customer, but have always found DeWalt product to hit the sweet spot for both product quality and price. There are cheaper units, there are more expensive.

Existem máquinas mais modernas e eficientes pelo mesmo preço.
Máquina limitada e ultrapassada, não tem martelete para perfuração em concreto, e não é brushless (ainda usa escovas)

Extremely effective tool that feels great in the hand
After an unsatisfactory experience with a black & orange drill that was underpowered and felt like a toy, I decided to spring for one of these Dewalt numbers in the hopes that it would do a better job. I'm delighted to report that it is easily powered enough to do my projects: making some bookshelves, putting a gate on the porch etc. It feels really sturdy and like a 'real tool' without being annoyingly heavy. It is simple enough to use and I love that there are two batteries. We had to swap batteries around 3 hours into the gate project. Even the little bag feels like a good quality canvas workbag, not a crap cheap grocery bag which is what I was fearing. All in all, highly recommended. I may have to get my dad one after how impressed he was :D

Great value for the price!
Gift for son-in-law. He and I are long-time Dewalt fans, so this was a no-brainer. Solid, reliable, does a great job. I particularly appreciate the rapid recharge. Would absolutely buy again.
