You really canโt beat a Fray Bentos for convenience. Itโs the perfect "emergency" meal to keep in the cupboard for when you want something hot and filling without any effort. The puff pastry lid is definitely the highlightโit rises really well in the oven and gets that classic flaky, golden finish. The chicken filling is decent, with a good amount of gravy that soaks into the bottom layers of the pastry. Just a tip: make sure you use a good tin opener to get the lid off cleanly, and leave it in for the full recommended time to make sure the pastry in the middle cooks through. For a quick, nostalgic dinner that hits the spot every time, itโs great value.

These pies are useful to keep in the cupboard for a quick meal. Not a lot of meat, more like a gravy pie but they are tasty and not much money.
