I chose this brand as it is the same as the one used in a kitchen where I used to work, so I knew it would be reliable and easy to use. It functions perfectly and I have found it to be accurate. As with all LCD screens, you have to be at the right angle to read it, but you can use the hold button to keep the temperature on display to help with that. It's a solid instrument and easily handles the home kitchen environment. I would definitely recommend this one over several of the more expensive brands - it really is exceptionally good value (and a bonus that it comes in so many colours, so you can either match it to your kitchen, or easily tell apart different probes for different food uses).
