One fan's dream of being reincarnated in the Dragon Ball world turns into a nightmare when he's reborn as everyone's favorite punching bag. A Dragon Ball fan’s greatest dream is getting to live in the Dragon Ball universe and fight alongside Goku and his friends! One particular fan is in for a rude awakening when he suddenly dies and gets reincarnated as everyone’s favorite punching bag, Yamcha! A Japanese high school student is on his way to a Dragon Ball event and makes a detour to hit on a cute girl. Unfortunately, he meets with an unfortunate and fatal accident before he reaches her and, to his great surprise, wakes up in the Dragon Ball universe as Yamcha! Being a Dragon Ball fan, he knows exactly what misery awaits him as Yamcha, so he takes matters into his own hands and vows to make Yamcha the strongest Dragon Ball character ever! Review: Yamcha's Big Moment - Dragon Ball That Time I Got Reincarnated As Yamcha is a very fun spin off of the Dragon Ball. It's fun to see a character that has more or less become a joke to most of the fandom getting his time to shine. The title says it all about the story, the premise is very simple with a person getting reincarnated as Yamcha and being he was a Dragon Ball fan before hand tries to use his knowledge to change Yamchas fate. The jokes are well timed and have a geniune Dragon Ball fell about them and the last bonus chapter is a must read for it's comedic punch. Though the volume is on the shorter side being 134 pages, it's well paced and doesn't overstay it's welcome. The artwork is clean and crisp and sometimes you swear it was drawn by Akira Toriyama. If you are a Dragon Ball fan this is a very easy recommendation. Review: Yamcha actually being cool?! - Yamcha is one of the most universally mocked fictional characters of all time. For many of us, our first introduction to the character was watching Dragon Ball Z. He shows up during the Saiyan Saga with a pretty cool entrance and helps the heroes battle the Saibamen. You're probably thinking: "Hey, this guy looks pretty cool, bet he's an expert and is gonna do something awesome!" And for a while he does.... ...until he gets blown up and his body is curled up in that now meme worthy pose. Since that fight, Yamcha has been treated both in-universe and by fans of the series in general as a joke. But what if that all changed? What if someone more knowledgeable and capable was in Yamcha's place? That's what this story seeks to answer with the writer, dragongarow LEE, showing what would happen if a Dragon Ball fanboy was reincarnated as the former desert bandit. I'm not gonna spoil it, but the book is genuine wish fufillment. Coming from someone who actually likes Yamcha and thinks he should get some more chances to shine, this book is a breath of fresh air. It's just nice to see one of the human fighters (minus Krillin) get some W's. And let's just say that there's a twist near the end of the story that you won't see coming. If you're a DB fan, you'll love this!

Yamchas redemption
A good read for people who wanna see yamcha have his own redemption, not something to fully take seriously which is why I like it, and it has a funny lil plot twist at the end

Not your typical fan-fiction
When it comes to non-canon content I've never really cared for fan fiction. That's not to say that the genre doesnt have its merits and possess writers of considerable skill; it's just never been for me. You may be asking why I'm reviewing this release, and with my opinion of fan fictions already stated why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. For some reason this manga struck a chord with me. I believe I first heard about it through browsing the Internet or from Team Four Star on Youtube. Lately Yamacha has become a bit of a meme so this manga's existence didnt surprise me. What did surprise me though was how funny it actually is. I think the biggest issue a lot of people have with anime fan fictions are that they tend to be very self indulgent, sexual, and so far into left field from the source material that it alienates the fanbase. With this manga I didnt feel like that was the case. This story I could easily see as a dream sequence or filler in the actual show/manga. It's a charming and fun ride and if you're a fan of the Dragon Ball universe I think you'll get a kick out of it.

Fun for every Dragonball Fan!
Although I would suggest seeing this on a computer or tablet for kindle readers. Other than that the book kept putting a smile on my face as I read how Yamcha handled his position in upcoming arcs it was fun but honest. The writer put more emphasis to the lure of Yamcha and his limitations, respecting the dragonball world and its rules rather than simply popping into the dragonball world and doing what he pleased. That's a sign of a great writer, not changing what is and working with what's there. I'm a fan of Yamcha but if this story went where I thought it would go, it probably would have never made it into volume. It's a quick fun read and it made you wish (only in some instances) that you existed in this world for the good times.

Charming Read for Long Time Dragon Ball and Yamcha Fans
The author "Dragongarow Lee" is a huge Dragon Ball fan and it's no wonder why this became an official manga. The art style is reminiscent of Toriyama's early Dragon Ball Z chapters from around 89'-91' and more importantly, the panel placement is just about on the same level. Pictures have room to breath, the speed lines guide your eye effortlessly, and the overall story is charming, because at the end of the day it's about a kid who just really loves Dragon Ball. Yamcha is a great character and this manga does him great justice from a unique perspective. I won't spoil the whole plot, but essentially a young fan of Dragon Ball from the real world gets turned into Yamcha and takes advantage of his prior knowledge of the franchise to make Yamcha the strongest human character in an extremely fun "what if" scenario. This release even has a few bonus stories that weren't in the original publication! Overall I loved this manga and the only nit picks I have are that the order of story telling is kinda off in chapter two, but I believe that's because the publication gab between chapters 1 and 2 was a massive 6 months. I assume things needed to be recapped for newer readers at the time. Also, you really do need to be a Dragon Ball fan to get any real enjoyment out of this manga, but that should be a given. Like I said, if you're a Dragon Ball fan or you're a big Yamcha fan like myself then this is a great time.

Book is good and completely fine
Looks good and nothing is wrong with the book all the pages are fine and readable. The book it self is quite funny as you read about a dragon ball fan who gets reincarnated as Yamcha and tries to live his best life as him.

Fun read
Incredible read. Good quality of the product too. The manga is a lot of fun for anyone who likes to have that classic Toriyama feel provided by Dragon Garrow Lee
