This camera is packed with features that make it easy to capture stunning photos and videos
If you're in the market for a high-quality point-and-shoot camera that delivers exceptional image quality, the Canon Cameras US Point and Shoot Digital Camera with 3.0" LCD is an excellent option. This camera is packed with features that make it easy to capture stunning photos and videos, whether you're a professional photographer or a hobbyist. One of the standout features of this camera is its 40x optical zoom, which is accompanied by an optical image stabilizer and zoom framing assist. This means that you can get up close and personal with your subject matter, without worrying about camera shake or blurriness. The zoom framing assist is particularly helpful, as it helps you to keep your subject centered in the frame, even when you're zooming in or out. Another great feature of the Canon Cameras US Point and Shoot Digital Camera is its ability to shoot 4K video and 4K time-lapse movies. This means that you can capture stunning footage in incredibly high resolution, which is perfect for creating high-quality videos or time-lapse sequences. In addition to its impressive video capabilities, this camera also features a 20.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor, which delivers sharp, detailed images with accurate color reproduction. This is particularly useful when shooting in low light conditions, as the sensor is able to capture more light than other cameras in its class. Finally, the Canon Cameras US Point and Shoot Digital Camera is also equipped with high-speed continuous shooting, which allows you to capture fast-moving action with ease. Whether you're photographing sports, wildlife, or other fast-paced subjects, this feature ensures that you never miss a moment. Overall, the Canon Cameras US Point and Shoot Digital Camera with 3.0" LCD is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a high-quality camera that delivers exceptional image quality, impressive video capabilities, and a range of advanced features. Highly recommended!

Box says not for sale outside of Japan Menus in English
Not sure why they would sell this camera under a listing that says Canon cameras US. Wouldn't that suggest that it was a USA version. There is no Canon warranty on this product. Just with the third party seller. The good part is that the menus are in English. I guess it is hard to find the USA version. The seller shipped it 2 day Air and the item arrived when suggested. Seems like a very nice camera. Will register with the seller's warranty. Who knows what the warranty covers. Nothing included in the box about the warranty coverage. Fingers crossed. Update after Using: Pretty good camera. Very similar to the Canon 30x. A little thicker. Nice smooth action on everything. Nice reversing display for selfies. I will stick with the 5 stars. Too bad about the misleading listing.

NOT WHATS ADVERTISED. BUYER BE WARE
First off the title days US camera, however the box says for Japan use only. Second the quality is not there. No matter what options I used the pictures are not clear and sharp. The video is not 4k nor is the image quality. Third, the seller makes you pay for the return shipping, which it should be on them for false advertising. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. My crappy phone camera does better than this.

Great for Travel!
Great camera for traveling with. It's lightweight and compact and the zoom is amazing. I'm still learning to use it more efficiently, but so far it's pretty easy to use. The selfie mode is a big improvement! Battery life is very good too! I'm just using it to take general photos and video. I'm not vlogging with it, though I could if I wanted to. I am an armature photographer so I am very happy with the quality of photos I'm getting from it.

Arrived as advertised
I wanted to leave a review for anyone else who might be as hesitant as I was. I took a gamble buying a camera on Amazon but thankfully it panned out. It arrived brand new with all accessories and exactly as advertised. From initial (April ‘26) unboxing/tests it’s working alright. Mine was a model made for Japan market so I don’t have any warranty from Canon but the seller provided 1yr warranty which I feel is a show of good faith. I saw someone say that theirs stopped working after a while so I’ll update this when I’ve used it for some time. All in all, good camera, fair price, light & perfectly portable, and the pictures are beautiful! I’m excited about it!! Hope this helps ❤️

Excellent camera for birdwatching, understanding its inherent limitations
I am beginning birder, and chose this camera for its long zoom (960 mm 35 mm equivalent) and its compact size. I did not want the expense, weight, and bulk of an interchangeable lens camera, or of a "bridge" camera. Because the SX740's small size and light weight, it's been easy to switch from binoculars to the camera to take pictures. (I "wear" it on my wrist with a strap.) I have had the SX 740 for about two months, and have taken about 30,000 pictures with it. I am very satisfied with the camera, and would buy it again. At long distances in reasonable light, the camera at highest zoom can take images of small birds that are acceptable enough to help me identify them. Images of larger birds at closer distances are great (see photos). I use Program mode, with spot focusing, auto ISO, and servo AF (continuous focus). The SX740 uses the same battery (NB-13L) as my Canon G7X. As a bonus, the battery lasts significantly longer in the SX740 - most times I can go two hours taking lots of pictures without battery change. Having said the above, potential purchasers should understand that this kind of camera has inherent limitations. Overall, pictures taken at high zoom will not be as sharp as those taken with a quality interchangeable lens camera. By strict eBird picture quality criteria, photos I take (usually at high zoom) are in the 1-4/5 star range, average high two's - still generally acceptable for upload to eBird. People should not expect that every high zoom picture will be good. I take multiple continuous pictures by holding the shutter down, and I can usually get at least one good picture that way. The SX740 does not have a viewfinder - the LCD screen, even at the highest brightness setting, can be hard to see in bright daylight. Finding a small bird in the bushes on the screen can also be difficult - the Framing Assist (zoom out) button can be helpful in this situation, but not always.

Perfect but needs a viewfinder
Great photos, easy to use. My only beef is no viewfinder. In bright light conditions it's hard to lock in with the screen. Otherwise a very nice camera!!

Great for snapping zoomed in or out, predictably lens is a little slow
This model stood out at best buy as the best compact high zoom camera. It took clearer pictures (of boxes on a distant wall) and snapped then quicker than anything else I tried—a must for capturing birds, which I often like to do. The hitch was that they didn't have them in stock at the store, and I was leaving in vacation the next day. Amazon totally saved me with 8am next day delivery (even though it snowed a bit. I sometimes wish they would relax about delivery times, but in this case it was awesome.) The articulating screen was also a really good feature for me, as my arms are unusually weak and unsteady, and that lets me brace on my wheelchair arms while framing a shot, much of the time. Arm fatigue was not bad, although this one is heavier than the Lumix camera I had. I do miss the lens ring from the Lumix for fine adjustments of a chosen setting. As with many cameras of this type, the lens is a little slow, but I'll take that tradeoff for less bulk. It is capable of great macros, but the autofocus gets in the way. Manual focus can get you extreme close-ups, but it's hard to tell what the focus is from the screen. (Maybe I need to figure out some more settings, I may have overlooked if this camera has focus lock similar to my old Lumix). I'm also a fan of the rapid shooting modes, but not the way this seems to get reset on automatic after changing to another mode. The phone app also works pretty well, a little better than the Panasonic app did on my last camera, but not drastically better.
