It is surprising how Ideal was able to get so much differentiation in a humble wire nut, but they did. I find these better than the good offerings from name brands such as 3M and GB, and far better than the older standard styles that are often imported today. They grip tightly and securely. They have a very wide listed conductor range, that exceeds the range of orange to red of the old standard styles, while being a bit smaller than name brand red. The head is compatible with a 5/16 nut driver if desired to give your fingers a rest. From what I have seen, electricians love these, and no wonder why.

Ideal wire nuts are all ill buy and use, tan color has you covered for most circumstances.

Overall - these worked great for outlets and switches on 15 and 20A circuits. They engage easily, tighten reliably, and make a solid connection. I'm not a pro, just a reasonably handy home-owner. I had some issues trying to wire some outlets and switches and was going to buy a cheap set of assorted wire nuts for an upcoming little project. I decided to do a little research on wire nuts and found this particular type had some of the greatest range for number and size of wires it could handle (look up the Ideal product guides for info). And some of the other ratings from real pros spoke well. So I decided it would be better to buy a bunch of these that could handle almost anything I'd normally need, rather than buying an assortment that might not have enough of the big ones and far too many of the little ones. I'm very pleased with how well they've worked.

Perfect for connecting old solid copper wire to stranded copper wire in most appliances. Clear instructions on bag for secure connections. They are so good that I started looking for additional projects and applications. They are larger than the cheap connectors so they might not be great for smaller boxes.
