Up and running for a few weeks and it’s doing great. No leaks with the joints just pushed together which will aid I six month cleaning. Very small water pump which works surprisingly well. I’m using this on the wall in my grow room to make use of the extra light. Channels are very small and best for small plants.

I am growing lettuce, tomato and oregano in the thing. Takes a bit of figuring but not a lot. Assembly requires a rubber mallet to make sure the connections are secure, but have had no issue with leaking. I didn’t like the idea of the sponges that came with it, used peat moss ones from root farm and have ordered some rock wool ones. Light in the water is the enemy can cause a algae flush, so I used aluminum foil to cover all the holes not used, and the clear water pipe and my bucket. A reliable ph meter is a must, as is fertilizer for hydro and ph up and down chemicals. Food grade hydrogen peroxide can help with algae/bacteria, but once I cut off most of the light getting to the water the water stayed clear. My first bit of lettuce will have cost me hundreds but it’s cool to do.

A 5-gallon bucket won't fit under the drainpipe unless you notch the side or raise the stand an inch higher. I am using a 2-gallon bucket. The control is easy to set, hold the button for two minutes and chose 5,15 or 30 minutes on and then another button sets how long you want it to stay of 30,60, or 120 minutes. The times are color coded lights. The pipes fill up about halfway when on and drains to the bottom level of the drainpipe which is set in the middle of the pipe. It can accommodate 6 full size lettuce or 18 pruned ones.
