I think it's really smart to purchase bear spray with a trainer. You don't want to be in the clutches of the bears teeth while you're trying to get the spray out of its holster! Plus, the spray is so powerful, it almost has a kick-back when you practice with the trainer.

Added safety when visiting and hiking in national parks
Purchased for vacation to Yellowstone and having the training bottle allowed everyone to get some practice. People have a tendency to spray to high and this will teach you how in case you need it.

Worth the expense
The practice canister was worth the money. Spay comes out with a good deal of force and it’s a good idea to get a feel for it before you actually need it.
