Wolf Man (2025) - Collector's Edition [DVD]

It was a pretty good movie.

I love werewolf stories and films! I wasn't too sure that a new take would be any good so it was after a recommendation that I purchased this one. Was I wrong! I love being surprised by a new take, seeing things from a different perspective and most importantly HEARING things differently! The sound in this should be Oscar worthy-very chilling and coming at you from everywhere-give this one a view especially if you have a reasonably decent sound system.

Great movie. It’s simple and although they tried to go the “elevated” route, it’s still a good story and the characters are all likeable. Not sure why anyone would expect another 1941 wolf man movie, that one has its place in our hearts and a new take was welcome, imo. Hollywood does so many carbon copies and they almost always lack any kind of creativity, story wise. We need creators who will take a chance and give us a glimpse from their minds eye of the character. Someone mentioned the dialogue being clunky or cringe, not at all the case. Every piece of dialogue in the movie served an exact purpose and was as precise as possible. Firstly it doesn’t have that much dialogue to begin with. Secondly, it’s a small family and yes, they say they love each other. Maybe that makes some people uncomfortable, not sure. If you’re looking for action, it depends on what kind of action you like. This movie is non-stop tension after the first 10 minutes and doesn’t let up. I found myself looking in the woods, in the background, in the shadows, listening for sounds, etc. it’s a very paranoid presentation. I feared for the safety of everyone involved. We had a reason to care about each one. The pacing is rapid. We never veer off from the building story, with introduction of side characters or wasted scenes, moments of levity, it’s just constant. It’s a persistent growing threat and these three people are bound to either end up victims or miraculously escape their fate. I didn’t like the jump scares. They’re stupid and cheap. But they did such a great job building this atmosphere of dread and kept me wondering when the next immediate threat would present itself, that I forgave the jump scares. For the actual product, I opted for the Steelbook because the cover art is so paranoid. It’s embossed and glossy, absolutely a cool addition to my movie rack.

The movie was crazy and good, creepy and scary looking. Weird ending to the movie.

The movie is fantastic in my opinion. Love the debossed title, although I would like to have seen different art work. The steelbook had two dents in it, a reoccurring theme with Amazon lately, so there is no way I can give it more than three stars. Even when you buy a new release they can’t seem to get a product out without harming it in some way. The quality control is non existent. I’m going to stop buying my films from this platform. It’s not worth the several trips to return all the defective merchandise they send out in hopes you keep it. We work hard for our money. Transactions should be treated with respect.

Definitely worth the price of a ticket. Yes, it's the old familiar tale but the effects are new and quite awesome. A twist on the story too which is refreshing. I liked it!
