Hand Painted Crappie Fish Replica Wall Mount Decor Room Ornament Plaque 15"

My son and husband love this Crappie. I bought it to hang on the bathroom wall with the trout and bass but my boys wanted it on a shelf in the living room. It does stand up on the shelf by itself.

For the price you get what you pay for, but what you pay for is worth it. Its not a 100$+ Resin replica, its not the most realistic looking fish mount you could get, but there is NOTHING in this price range that beats this. Overall this fish is fairly large for a crappie, it was a bit bigger then I was hoping for. My fish I was trying to replicate with this was the same length but no where near as thick and chunky as this replica. But thats not too big of a deal, and only really is an issue if you were using this to substitute a replica trophy mount. Overall the paint job is nice and realistic, altho it could be improved im not at all disappointed with what I got, and in fact I think it looks better in person then in the photos here on amazon. However there are some minor things I wish were better, The way of the lower fins attach looks really bad, and altho really isn only noticable when you get close, its just ugly and could of been done better. but the more glaring issue for me is the mouth, It just doesnt look realistic to me. It does come with a hook hanger on the back which could of been a bit better placed/bigger to make it easier to hang. but it hasnt fallen off the wall or anything so I cant complain haha Overall for this price range I dont think you can go wrong. This makes a great decoration for any freshwater anglers

This is an incredibly life-like crappie replica. It is "slab" sized and looks good mounted on an appropriate wall.

My wife and I had just returned from a crappie fishing get-a-way to Moultrie Lake, SC where we were able to harvest several black crappie in the 2 1/2 to 3 lb range. We wanted a permanent reminder of a fun trip, so we ordered the black crappie replica. I had a varnished plaque just the right size...so bingo! It's on the wall less than a week after we got home ! It' perfect ! Thinking about getting one ? Do it, you won't be disappointed.!

Anatomically, this replica is very accurate. I've caught and seen a lot of crappie in my day, and this is a good looking fish. The scales and gill detail are better than I expected. Dorsal and tail fins are a little thicker than on a good skin mount, but on a wall no one will notice. Coloring is a little off. Probably the result of someone over seas trying to imitate a picture, but they definitely had access to a real crappie when the mold was made. I took a little black spray paint and a sharpie to make the coloring more realistic and shot it with a clear coat afterward. It's on a cabin wall and even other fishmen ask me--"Where'd you catch that monster?" I'm not saying you have to do the same, but it can be made to fool just about anyone. I studied art in college, so it wasn't a big deal.

I have caught a lot of crappies over my lifetime and this mount looks great. It is perfect for the lake cabin where we catch crappies this size.
