Casio A159W-N1DF Classic Digital Bracelet Watch

Look, I’m not saying this watch will automatically make you the best shower curtian ring salesman in the Midwest, but it won’t hurt. I bought this Casio because I wanted a reliable timepiece, but mostly because I wanted to channel my inner Del Griffith. It turns out, this little retro masterpiece is tougher than a three-day delay at O'Hare. The digital display is crisp, the stainless steel band screams "1987 corporate chic," and the light is just bright enough to help you hunt for a missing wallet in a dark, burned-out rental car. It is lightweight, accurate, and pairs beautifully with a heavy parka. If you are currently stranded in Wichita, or just trying to make it home for Thanksgiving, this is the watch you want on your wrist. Pros: Keeps perfect time. Unmatched 80s traveler aesthetic. Safe from thieves who only want Rolexes. Cons: Does not come with a trunk full of premium shower curtain rings.

It's 1989 all over again when I put this on my wrist! Beautiful watch at an excellent price! The A159 is still made at the Yamagata Casio factory in Higashine, Japan.

Much classier than the regular a158w band, wears great and looks amazing i really enjoy the clasp, i wear it everyday and the clarity is perfect, backlight works fit it just has to be dark.

Best watch

The watch appears as pictured and the weight appears adequate, but the readability is poor in the evening and night hours or when it is otherwise dim or dark. I searched and paid extra looking for the quality that I remember, so I am disappointed with this "best version".

Outstanding value on a classic watch from the late 1980s that is still being produced in Japan, for not much more money than the similar version produced in China (A158). Please note that the photo of this watch on Amazon as of July 2026 is WRONG. The watch pictured is the A159WA, which has a bracelet that is adjustable without tools, which results in overlap of the extra portion of the bracelet. The watch I received is in fact the A159W, which has a fold-over clasp on the bracelet, requiring some tools to resize, but which may feel a little lighter/thinner since the excess links are removed rather than overlapping. If you look around online, some people prefer one, some people prefer the other; both are an excellent value, and both are made in Japan.

I have this A159W-N1DF watch. I have had it on my wrist for over 6 months. It is lightweight and very comfortable. I have absolutely no complaints with this watch. I fully recommend this quality Casio watch.

Almost vintage now

中坊の時、買ってもらった懐かしのカシオが欲しくなり 色々と検討した結果、デザインが良いと思った此方を購入。 囲い有りの「WR」文字でベルトはスライド式、裏版には「JAPAN DH」の刻印有りました、ただ商品説明にはAPAN MOV’T CASED IN CHINA…まあ何とも微妙ですが。 商品は全く問題なし、ベルトも綺麗です。 が商品説明に有る保証書は確認出来ませんでした、保証など無いです。 満足して使っていましたがベルトを引っ張ったり分解、色々といじり装着不能(これは私の責任です、商品に負荷かけ過ぎました) 気に入った商品なので再度購入、Amazonでも並行モンと同じ値段で公式商品がありましたが 永く使いたいので割高でしたがCASIOの公式サイトでお願いしました。 こちらのサイトでは日の丸入りでメイドインジャパンをアピールしています。 Amazonで購入の場合もCASIO正規品が出品されていますので良く検討されてからの購入をお薦めします。 因み、こちらの並行輸入品とカシオ購入の正規品を比べてみましたが裏盤の刻印から何から全て同じでした。 並行品はバックル留め金にCASIOの反射シールが貼ってあり、 個体差でしょうが正規品よりベルト取り付けのガタがかなり少なかったです。 正規品は時間も3日で1秒ほど遅れますが並行品はかなり正確に時を刻んでます。 あくまで個体差なんでしょうが結局は並行品ケースに正規品バンドを組み替えて使っています。 格好良く満足です、買って良かった。

Very happy with my purchase. The images shown are of the model 'A159WA', but the 'A159W' arrived as stated in the title. It's made in Japan, which sets it apart from other Casio watches and makes it unique. It also has a solid tri-fold clasp, which feels more secure compared to the A159WA, in my opinion. The light function is slightly dimmer than that of the A158, but it's not an issue. It's still readable in the dark.
