Not liked by any of our six cats. Would not recommend in general. Expensive too for what you get. **Q: Does the cat go inside?** A: It was the most terrible thing i bought. I put it in the trash.... Every time you spin it, it all over the floor. I went back to the regular cat litter. **Q: do you need the black base** A: Yes, the litter spinner is supported by and rolls on the base cradle. **Q: Can the litter drawer fit a litter genie, litter locker, or the litter champ? is it too big? too small? too long? Or do able?** A: I would say yes. I do not use the litter spinner because the opening was too small for one of my cats to be comfortable, however my father (83 yrs old) uses the litter spinner with the litter genie and likes it. Rolling is so easy *by N***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2019* My 3 cats have used this for 5days. They use it easily. I even caught a kitten trying to sleep in it. I like that I can roll to clean the litter. Scooping seems to go through a lot of litter. Hopefully this way won't be so much. The only down side, it's a little hard to get the basket out of its slot. It seems to be a really tight fit. I'm just going to take a razor blade and trim the housing a little. Ok so I've now had this for a little more than a month. Cats still are using. 9nly down side. It seems to keep the urine smell right there I spin/empty this about 3 times a day. So I drilled 8 holes in center back to help diffuse this. We*all see if this helps. I still like. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good litter box, especially for the price *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2013* First, this thing is ridiculously hard to put together - the screw holes don't line up as they should! Next, this litter box is supposed to make cleaning out clumps of waste super easy. It does not. The drawer makes a huge mess each time you pull it out to clean. Waste gets stuck to the bottom and sticks to the outside as you slide it out. A lot of clean litter also stays in the drawer (I do use clumping litter!). Lastly, and the deciding factor for returning this litter box, the ammonia smell in this litter box accumulates quickly and I fear it's way too high for cats. I bought this for two kittens I just adopted. The first week they were both using this litter box, but the second week I'd gotten a second cheap open flat litter box. The kittens stopped using this spinner litter box. I think they used it twice in the second week. I went to dump out all the litter to clean it and try different litter in it and when I lifted the box to dump out all the litter that smell hit me! It was sooo strong. No wonder my kittens didn't want anything to do with it. Our vet told us that sometimes the covered litter boxes can trap in the ammonia smell - I think that's what happens with this one because the opening isn't very big. I bought it back in Sept for a Christmas present for my daughter’s family. My son in law has health and mobility issues and just knew this would make his life easier. It’s been too long to return. Would love to figure out how to remedy the problem. It’s made very well and works fine- just the mess!!!!!! I’ve contacted the seller and they have responded and I hope I can get this worked out. May have to break out the Duct tape.
