Viewedge 24 inch Computer Monitor

The first one I received had a banding issue, so had to be returned. The second one I received works perfectly. No dead pixels, and looks great. While it doesn't have HDR, and only allows for 8-bpc, the quick 1ms response time is there for gamers who are looking for it, as well as a 144hz refresh rate. For those who don't game at 2K or higher, or need HDR and higher output color depth, this is something I would definitely recommend.

First off, this is a nice and inexpensive monitor it you want to upgrade from an older monitor or, as in my case, add a monitor to a laptop rig. I don’t know how anyone can get stuff done with just one monitor. 24” is a good size. Not overwhelming, but plenty of real estate. Also at 1920x1080 a too-large monitor gets a bit grainy. So,… it’s a good product and I like it. On the other hand, there are some limitations: - VGA (!) or HDMI only. Really. Who uses VGA these days? For gaming? Really? Not to diss it too much, since it works fine for most regular use, but most dedicated GPU cards don’t even have a VGA port any more. In fact, modern cards used for gaming often don’t have HDMI either; they’re usually DVI or DP. On this monitor, VGA and HDMI are your only choices. My laptop (an HP Spectre x360) has neither of these ports. It has one USB-A I use for a trackball and a couple of USB-C ports. That’s it. So patching in to this monitor presents minor challenges. I’ve had problems with USB-C to HDMI mostly related to power delivery, but my USB-C multi-port box runs this monitor just fine. It might be that you can push a high clock speed from the computer or porting from a higher rate DVI or DP cable. I might try. - Clock Speed. It’s advertised as 144hz. I could not find how to adjust this on the monitor. The monitor menu system does not have a clock speed adjustment and the nominal is 60hz which is pretty standard for regular monitors for regular business use. This is not a problem for me, since I’m not running games on my laptop. For games I use a tower desktop with a high-end nVidia card. The laptop is for business. One last plus (always good to end on a high note), the screen has an almost matte finish. It actually looks a bit like fabric. It is an attractive finish. So, given the price and—for business use—good resolution and performance this is a sweet monitor.

Kicker monitor for the cost. Not much to elaborate. It is just an excellent performer for a modest budget. Experienced no screen tearing or problems on Nvidia or AMD. It would serve as a fantastic secondary monitor or a primary display.

This 24" FHD 144Hz monitor from Viewedge is pretty good for a sub-$100 higher refresh rate panel. Out of the box, I found the panel color rendering to be fine. The LCD panel is not particularly fancy (the panel has 8 bit color depth and doesn't support HDR (nor does it claim to)). The two input options are HDMI (note that 1080p@120Hz is the limit for HDMI 1.2 bandwidth) and VGA (absolutely ancient) but the external wall-wart type power supply can be nice for running a small power cord run up a monitor arm. The plastic stand is extremely basic, offering only a tilt adjustment. Thankfully, the 75x75 VESA mounting pattern on the rear makes even a basic monitor arm easy to attach and then you have many more comfort adjustments possible. I quickly noticed that the very left and right sides of the image appeared to have an image "roll off" that looked sort of like the curved edge cell phone displays. It turns out that's due to the backlight not extending further than the sides of the LCD itself and a shallow viewing angle at the extreme edge. It's not a big deal but I noticed things like white highlights on the extreme left or scroll bars on the extreme right were oddly dimmed by this backlight issue. The instruction sheet provided with the monitor was fine for installation and specs but had insufficient instructions related to features available in the menus. The menus have acronyms you'll have to google to figure out and there are no "gaming monitor" features like crosshair overlays available. I think this panel works fine for the sort of high refresh rates you want with light gaming but not being able to reliably see the extreme edges, the very basic tilt-capable stand, and a single digital display input are the most significant downsides. I highly recommend you plan to augment this monitor with at least a basic monitor arm to make it height adjustable.

I got this for our camper so I can work remotely, but not give up a lot of storage space when I'm not using it. This is the perfect solution. It easily connects to my docking station. It is so simple to set up. It has far better display than my laptop. I like how light weight it is and I can easily stash it out of the way. It's been a pleasure to work with and it was nearly seamless getting used to it. There's no drag lines. The videos I played were clear and crisp. There was no shaggy movement. I've now played with this for a few days and I think this Viewedge 24" gaming monitor gives a lot of bang for your buck! It's easily portable. I could take the stand off and tuck this into my carry-on easily. Wouldn't hesitate to get another or gift this one to one of the niblings that needed a monitor.

They lied this monitor is only 60Hz and doesn’t go up to 144Hz

The monitor is good, except there is a flaw. When utilizing 144hz, there will be some tearing, to avoid this just cut about 4 hz from the original monitors frequency. Other than that, it's very good!
