Great buy, and cheaper in the sack thank a 5 litre tub.
The wild birds live this food, and it works out alot cheaper buying it in a sack, I just transfer some of it to a 5 litre old bird seed tub I have. I've brought this a few times now, it never disappoints the wild wild birds.

Customer tested and tried, reassuring so many choose this
I was pleased to find this on amazon with many 5* reviews, as I have bought nyger/niger seed in the past, and know it has to be just right for finches to come. I also bought a new perforated feeder, which is essential with this tiny seed. The bag arrives within a cardboard box. Once this strong plastic sack is opened, there is a real danger of all the seed slipping out allover the place if the bag is knocked over, I have tied the top up, but it is something to take care with. The seed looks fine, top quality, I was impressed and reassured by all the positive reviews for this type. It is intriguing to imagine the faming effort that goes into producing such large quantities of what is in effect thistle seed. So now I am set to watch a colourful, rewarding show of finches, which I know are nearby as I have caught sight of them in the bushes and hedges, near my other feeders. I think in the summer when the other birds don't need so much feeding support it is a lovely idea to feed this specialist seed for the smaller more vulnerable beauties out there. More news as it happens...

Hmm..12.75kg is questionable..plse read..
Good value for moneyโฆ more so because I actually transferred them into two supposedly 10kg buckets from another seller, and after filling the buckets to their full capacity, I had some of this packet still leftโฆ had also, already, filled eight feeders before trying to place the seed into buckets. So, figure what you can from this, cos somethings not adding up right, somewhere along the line! Birds love the seed tho. I have more than 50 visiting, daily..more when littlens are about. Pretty birds..

Good for Goldfinches
Goldfinches eat this seed. The other garden birds aren't interested. But we have a family of 6 or so finches so I keep this out for them. They don't eat a lot so it lasts ages

Goldfinches love them
These Niger seeds are great value and more importantly Goldfinches love them. Iโve had to put 3 Niger feeders up to cope with the demand and at times have had over 15 goldfinches at a time. The only downside is I need to buy it often to keep up with the demand! If you want goldfinches to come to your garden - buy this.

Goldfinches love them but problems with seeds sprouting in my lawn
I've been using these for a few months now and the goldfinches in my garden absolutely love them. We had no problems during the long dry summer but now discarded seeds are germinating in my lawn creating a thick carpet of seedlings. I did some research which suggested that niger seeds are heat treated before export to prevent this happening but this seems to only apply to the US not the UK. I have just phoned the company that imports this brand into the UK and they confirmed that these seeds are NOT heat-treated so I will now look for specific brands that are to prevent the problem of germination in my lawn.
