When making Indonesian Sambal Sauce, we asked for fermented seasonings that form shrimp. The fermentation caused by breaking down the protein by abundance contains the flavor of amino acids. You can use it for a variety of ethnic dishes except Sambal. When cooking, please roast fry or use a light flame with oil. Review: Must have!!! - Chili sauce lovers can't miss this Review: A chef in Bali recommended this to me and I know why! - This one was recommended to me by a chef in Bali for what the locals all know to be the best to make authentic Sambal and it is potent! Definitely has flavor and smells like it should.

Love it!!!!

Took a while to get it since it is shipped from Indonesia. A little expensive but the taste is good. I have used to make sambal terasi/belacan. I love that it is portion enough for one serving of sambal. If I cook with it, I will have to use 2 portions. Overall I love it. Easy to use and perfect to bring when we are traveling and during camping trip.
