Simply works
I'm glad there's some cheap canister filters on the market. Thing is quiet and effective, I got it running on a 20G long at about 1/4 flow rate. Very nice the flow rate is adjustable. I didn't even take note of the included UV operation, I probably will not enable it unless necessary. Designed well, easy to clean. However the trays have a silly shape so cutting custom foam was tedious, but doable. I didn't expect it to come with media, the media it comes with should be discarded and replaced with actual sponges... While it comes with intake/outake lily systems, and the unscrewable part to fill the line makes priming a breeze. It is just cheap plastic, doesn't look too bad but consider getting your own lily tubes if you care about aesthetics. I also had to cut down the intake tube significantly to fit in my tank, which is fine. Better for everyone that it can be super long for larger tanks. Drilled some holes in the pipe and installed an intake filter, which I highly recommend to save fry/shrimp and also minimize maintenance. Overall great deal. First one I got wasn't working but turns out it was my fault, got greedy and tried to use the upper section as an additional media compartment and it blocked up the outflow mechanism... so be careful about that. Second one working great.

I ran fish dept in pet store.. this is a good buy.
So far it's working very well. No leaking, seems to be sufficient for 55 gal tank. water is staying clear .. 3 weeks so far so can't comment long term yet.. Seems a good value. Is very quiet too. and water fall effect is calming. Was easy to install. I've owned more expensive units, same parts and build quality to me, but this one is doing the job just fine so far. I recommend.

Terrible Filter
This filter has already stopped working I just purchased at the end of September it arrived damaged, no issues to package or other items but this. I reached out to support with no assistance I figured I can make it work, 2 months after the UV light stopped working again figured if the internal filter is still working it’s fine. Then the water flow gradually started reducing I don’t know what the issue was I tried to troubleshoot and figured it wasn’t that big of a deal but now it’s a slow trickle. I have cleaned tubes every other week since having it as I have a Turtle, I make sure to thoroughly clean due to the gunk build up. However this is absurd it hasn’t even been 6 months and this is supposed to be a canister filter choose another option DO NOT BUY 0 stars not Durable at all

Definitely worth the money
Have had filter running several weeks. This filter performed better than I expected. Easy to get started. Has a handle to prime filter and hoses with no effort. I would recommend it. I have it on a 20 gallon hexagon column and it works amazing. Probably an overkill since I'm doing plants. Im not using the UV but it also came with an extra lightbulb. The only thing is the filter media. The bio-rings are plastic and the pads are not so good. But for me not a deal breaker because I most of the time change things in my filter anyway. Bought new pads that were in a bundle and foam. And I had bioballs of ceramic. Added a lot of bio-material for bacteria to grow. I really like the filter, plus it's not big at all it's actually small good for when you don't have a lot of space.

Decent for the price
No complaints so far. The self primer works ok and the filter is pretty quiet once the air settles out of it. Didn't use the provided out/intake. Hooked up just fine to 17mm glass lily pipes. The adjustable flow is nice, we'll see how that affects the rotor long-term. Didn't use the plastic balls it came with and replaced with ceramic media I had. The UV came just fine, not sure how often if at all I'll use it but nice to have I guess. Overall, pleased to with the performance-to-price. May update in a few months to a year. We'll see. Update from 10/06/2023: The filter has been chugging for almost 1.5 years now, everything is still going strong except the self-priming handle broke in the last month or so while I was repairing after a water change. The little handle that flips up to let you pull on the priming but is made of plastic and clips into both sides of the flat end piece on the priming piston. That part being broken makes it very hard to prime. If that didn't happen though, it would be still going strong. No leaks and not noisy so long as you don't have an intake that sucks in air (pipes with a skimmer). For the price, I can't really complain.

Works well. Make sure to keep the tank above the pump. SEE UPDATES
This seems to be doing quite a good job in my tank due to the fact that it pushes so much water through. I have purchased in tank pumps and they just didn't perform like they needed to. He always needed to have them cleaned/removed slash a pain in the butt. This thing has worked for a month and I'll be cleaning it sometime soon but as far as I'm concerned it is definitely better than the in-tank pumps... Less cleaning and better circulation of the water. I recommend this or I think there's like one or two higher than this. I don't recommend the lowest choice that they have this one is like number two on the list. Anyway, it's during the job and I think you'll be happy with it. Keep the tank above the pump the gravity of the water will help it not to stop pumping That's a must. The light should be stronger but it does what it does. I would enjoyed it more if it had a higher wattage for the UV light. Haven't had to clean the pump for the last 30 days which is so much better than in tank pumps I was having to clean those almost on a weekly basis if not twice a week. The amount of water this thing pushes through is good and does its job. Recommended. Update: The pump stopped working and is going back to Amazon. I'm opting for the next size up which I shouldn't have to because the tank is only about 15 to 20 gallons. However, I'm hoping the quality of the next size up will fix the issue with a stronger flow. I've lost quite a few fish due to the pump stopping and the heater overheating the tank due to lack of flow. This will be the third attempt. The first one was sent back because it never worked / the replacement worked for about 3 weeks and we shall see what the third one will do. It's got 30 days to impress or it will go back as well and with that I will switch to another brand. Hopefully, the extra power in the size up will allow it to function correctly and keep flowing instead of sitting there like a brick not doing anything. Will update...

Just OK. Cheap pads
it’s a OK filter I used it on my 60 gallon breeder tank and it did not meet the expectation. It would be perfect for a 40 gallon aquarium whatever size filter you buy make sure you Aquarium is a lot smaller. And the pads they give are cheap and useless

Wow! This filter is quiet!
I purchased this for a 20 gallon tank to help with cloudy water from algae as my little Aqueon filter couldn't hack it. I took it out of the box and whoa, it's a beast! I thought maybe it was going to be too much filter for the tank, I was wrong, it's a great size. The canister itself goes together very nicely and both inlet and return connectors are clearly marked and very strong. The hoses are beefy and very stiff, which is the only troubling issue that I'm dealing with. The very simple and small instruction pamphlet suggests to soak the hoses in warm water to make them more pliable. I did this, it worked ok, until the hoses got back to RT. The tube sizes are quite large and the tank lid does not sit flush. I belive I will change to a tank mounted light rather than a top. I've found the intake tube to be very long and is sitting at the bottom of the tank, I'm not really a fan of that, but so far it seems alright. Priming... well, the priming pump on the canister is smooth and has decent suction unless there is a lot of air in the canister, and this made priming the tubes quite frustrating. I'm not an expert, fairly new at keeping fish, and I've always used a hang on the side filter, so this was a new method of filtration. It took me about 15-20 minutes to get the tubes properly primed and full, how I did it still not sure, but when it happened, outflow was nice and steady. The instructions did not have any suggestions or methods to make it easier, and as a new user of a canister filter, I would have liked to have had that. I'll have to make some adjustments with the tubes but that's a minor inconvenience. This filter is definitely worth the money, you shouldn't be disappointed.
