Prepac White Shoe Cabinet, Entryway Bench, Mud Room Organization and Storage Bench with 18 Shoe Cubbies 16"D x 48"W x 24"H

Took more than a few minutes to assemble. Instructions were a little underwritten, however, we got it figured out. The top and bottom pieces of the shoe rack are sturdy (yes I know questionable since it is MDF material) but once assembled, the shoe rack is very sturdy and heavy too. Takes two people to carry. The shoe slots themselves are a little thinner material so don’t go beating them up by trying to shove your shoes into the rack. The slots are a little small. Ladies ballerina flats, sandals, flip flops, ked type shoes fit no problem. However, regular running sneaks require one slot per shoe. Men’s shoes may require the same spacing, one slot per shoe. So when you are looking at this rack to count how many pairs of shoes it will hold, keep in mind, the larger the foot, you will have to count half of the slots. So if this holds 24 pairs (of smaller shoes), you will have 12 pairs (of larger shoes). Boots do not fit in this shoe rack either. Even though it sounds like I am pointing out the limitations to this product, I actually think for the price (purchased during a holiday sale) it’s decent quality. Looks classy and clean in a light painted room or closet. The plus side to this long shoe rack is that you can convert the top into a bench or hold extra storage on top. Would recommend to persons needing shoe storage. I was skeptical at first when purchasing, but I actually really like the product. Just wish the individual shoe slots were a little bit bigger.

This was pretty easy to put together. Heavy box. Only took me 30 minutes give or take. Nice quality. It looks good and serves its purpose. Pair of sneakers fit easily. If you are trying to fit boots and what not you may run into a problem. The value for the money is great. Storage capacity is excellent. Much much better than the door hanger I bought before this. I would reccomend this product.

I have bought several shoe racks in the past few years, with none of them working out. This time I wanted to spend some extra money and get something I am hoping to last for years. I really wanted something made of solid wood that looked EXACTLY like this, but I cannot find anything like it on the market. I really wanted something to sit behind my sofa to catch all the shoes and put a basket on top to catch all the "pocket junk" from when my husband comes in the door and cleans his pocket. It always ends up on the counter, the bookshelf, etc. So far, adding a basket to catch all his pocket goods has been a blessing! I live in an apartment so I am going to add a table lamp to this as well since it sits just inside my front door to make it triple purpose! All you need to put this to get is a hammer and Philip's screwdriver. I would also recommend wood glue, personally. Before nailing the backing onto the piece, put a very thin line of glue, put the backing in place, then nail. It just prevents people from pushing the backing through the nails. Although, the backing is actually really thick unlike more assembly-required furniture items so I do not foresee this being a problem but with boys I always take the precaution. As for the customer packaging and customer service. The original packaging likely needs more TLC and more rethinking. It would save the company money and customers would be happier. I suggest they switch shippers as well. It was shipped via UPS and specifically says that it needs team lift. There were actually 2 UPS stickers that said team lift required. However, there was only 1 man that delivered it to us. We live in an upstairs apartment in a gated community. He parked outside of our gated community and walked it in and up the stairs all on his own. It weighs 58 lbs not including any packaging according to Amazon. The box was damaged on the ends. Upon opening the box, 4 of the parts were considerably damaged, including the corner completely broken off the top piece. On the assembly instructions there is a Customer Service number to call for issues. I have to say, for those who are uppity about needing to press numbers and such, there is no need for that. I was directly connected with a sweet woman who asked me my name and was able to look up my order. She asked what pieces were damaged. She told me it would take a few days to process, but the pieces would be in the mail. I received them. 9 days later. The box was again damaged on the ends by UPS, but there was a LOT better packaging and the pieces were very secure in the box and surrounded by some vacuum sealed foam stuff. Everything was perfect and I assembled easily. Their Customer Service definitely deserves props. It is really hard to find a company, especially online companies with excellent customer service.

I love how many shoes this bench can hold - it’s perfect for keeping our garage closet organized and managing overflow footwear. The construction is high quality and very sturdy; it feels like it will last for years. My only minor complaint is that the individual shoe slots are a little narrow, so larger men’s shoes can be a snug fit. Still, it works well overall, and the bench itself is a great height for sitting while putting on shoes. The finish looks nice and fits seamlessly into our space. Highly recommend for anyone looking to maximize shoe storage while adding a functional piece of furniture!

This shoe storage bench shipped with all the components required in a well-padded box with no damaged parts. The white finish was unharmed in all areas. The bench was very easy to assemble, and the instructions were clear. The material is MDF and the total weight is around 70 lbs. This is a "budget" or "value" piece of furniture, but it works well and is sturdy. I think it is a great value. The design even includes a thoughtful cutout to accommodate a baseboard - however, in the location I put this, my baseboards are too high (4-1/4"), but it will certainly accommodate the standard 3-1/2" to 3-3/4" baseboards. This is a great design touch because it will allow the bench to be flush against a wall of your choosing. I agree with other reviewers that the show cubbies themselves are a little under-sized, but it is not difficult to get a pair of shoes in the cubbies by having one flipped opposite of the other, or one sideways and one upright. Obviously, if you have bigger shoes or lots of boots, buy a bench with bigger cubbies.

This is the biggest shoe cubbie I've ever owned, it finally solves the storage issues I've always faced with shoe cubbies since they were either flimsy, prone to wear and tear, unattractive, or just generally unreliable. This one, however, is really sturdy and well constructed, and yes it takes up a good amount of space but it looks appealing and classy in any environment. It looks great in my entryway, the modern appearance complements my decor. It's also just refreshing to find a shoe storage solution that is effective and looks good. I'm pretty pleased with this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean storage option.

It took about a week to receive this bench. The box is very heavy when it arrives. All parts were there, everything looked perfect and the directions were great. I would estimate it took my husband 45 minutes to an hour to assemble this. He did not have any problems with assembly. The product is excellent. It was the perfect height, width, and length to fit in my entryway. It does not look cheap and it is functional. I personally feel the sizes of the cubbies are great. I feel there is a *slight* misrepresentation with the photo that is displayed. The top row cubbies are slightly smaller than the others are. In the photo, it gives the impression that all cubbies are the same dimension and this is not true. However, for me, this was not a huge issue because I have a toddler and his shoes fit perfectly in the smaller top row. I am able to fit one pair of my shoes in one cubby.My husband has very large work boots and he does need to put one shoe in one cubby for his work boots. My teenage son is able to put both of his shoes in one cubby. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. It's nice having a functional entryway where we can sit on the bench to put on our shoes, but it also serves as a shoe organizer and looks nice. EDIT 5/30/2013: Per another consumer's response, I need to revise the post that, in fact, the cubbies are the same size. In an error, when installing the product, the cubbies were installed up-side down, making the top row, incorrectly smaller, than the bottom row. For true representation and review of this product, if installed correctly, the cubbies are the same size.

This product is toxic and probably harmful to your health. It is made of formaldehyde pressed particle board. Upon assembling this product, the release of VOCs and Wood Dust was obvious and pungent. Felt physically ill after assembling with noticeable throat and nose irritation and reddened eyelids. Product is advertised in product details as “non-toxic” (their words not mine). It’s toxic and rightly flagged by California Proposition 65 for Wood Dust. Product is also advertised as wood and composite wood in specifications and product details, which is misleading. It’s particle board and particularly cheap and dusty particle board. However, it’s easy to assemble and looks nice. Cubbies are plenty large enough for Men’s Shoes with room to spare so pay no mind to the cubby size complaints. Sure, they can’t store boots but they are plenty spacious for sneakers and multiple pairs of flats/flip flops per hole. The problem with this item is the value for the money. Yes it’s easy to assemble. Sure, it looks nice. But the quality of the materials is suspect. I can’t imagine there is more than $40 worth of particle board, spray paint, and cheap wooden dowels and cams holding this together. Pros: - Assembly time in less than 30 minutes - Appears as advertised - Sturdier than expected (no vertical beam between top and bottom horizontal panels) - Cubbies are more spacious than you think and quite deep Cons: - Extremely cheap particle board construction - White laminate is extremely fragile and chipped off during assembly - Product is advertised as non-toxic and made of wood/composite wood but is flagged by Proposition 65 for Wood Dust and probably contains formaldehyde too - Noxious fumes upon opening and putting together. Instant throat and nose irritation and watery eyes.

We're a small family (4 members), but we have LOTS of shoes (mostly our kids). The entry closet was always a mess of towers of shoes haphazardly built during desperate attempts at finding pairs. Also, our youngest loved to crawl inside the closet and toss everything around like popcorn. With the cubby in place all shoes now have a home and the closet looks so tidy and nice! Bonus - our youngest no longer fits in there, so no more popcorn shoes. The slots are on the small side indeed, with larger shoes requiring their own slot, but for us that's not a problem since the kids' shoes fit well together in the same spot. The cubby was easy enough to put together by one person. Two small issues I had with it: - it has a very strong smell in the beginning - we still have to air out the closet from time to time, but it's getting fainter; - the slats that for the shoe holes are actually completely separate from the rest of the cubby, you just plop them in at the end - that makes me doubt its sturdiness a bit, but for now it's holding up just fine. All in all, for our purposes it was a very good purchase and I'm really happy with it!

Easy to put together, and 4 months later is holding up nicely to the abuse a family of 6 can throw at it. With 18 storage slots, that's storage for 3 pair of shoes each. So much better than tripping over a bunch of shoes laying around at the front door. Admittedly the cubbie holes could be a little bigger but I can fit a pair of men's size 11 in them if I turn one sideways. Other reviews say they should be able to put them in side by side, but that would just mean you can put fewer pair of shoes in it.

This is a really nice looking bench for the price. It is ridiculously easy to put together...especially if you have experience building furniture. I agree with other reviews and I feel that the cubby holes are too small...my son’s size 7 Jordans don’t fit...I had to put one shoe per cubby...not a big deal...just weird that the holes are so small. I am very happy with the quality and the overall look. Not 5 stars because the cubby holes are too small.

It’s heavy! Very easy to assemble & the pieces came in perfect condition. Took a while to add the middle shelves but once you get the first one in, the rest fit right in! Fits nicely into the space, and I’m happy it holds as many shoes as it does, and the top can also be used to store additional items :)

It's nice except the shoe hole are not big enough for runners!
