Salcar 9.5 mm 2.HDD/SSD Drive Bay Sata 2nd plastic hard, drive caddy hard drive frame with SATA interface compatible with universal notebook

Wanted a second SSD in my work laptop for the purpose of running VM's and as I never use the optical drive, decided to lose it and use one of these. Wasn't sure how it would work with the bezel but it the bezel just pulled off my old optical drive and clipped onto this - it looks like the clip layout for the bezels are universal. I did accidentally break one of the clips on my bezel; entirely my fault. If I recall correctly, there were screws included with this too. Works great and the SSD I used was recognized in Windows after partitioning it and formatting it and I'm very pleased. For the price you really can't do much better.

With optical media becoming less and less relevant this handy converter allows you to pop a SATA SSD into the space once occupied by a DVD/CD drive. I've used it on a thin client type PC but it will also fit lot of laptops, Macbooks and other devices that have a slimline SATA optical drive bay. Easy to fit, it even comes with a little screwdriver for dealing with the inevitable fixings.

Arrived on time and as expected. Easy to install, recognosed without any issues and transfer rate as expected. Only downside:- unlike previous reviewer - bezel off HP does not fit. Thinking may be the bezel non-standard fitment, compared to another HP, 2 (different model) Dells and an Asus - all the same fitment. On the plus side, came to an arrangement with Salcar. Although no longer aesthetically pleasing, I'm happy with it.

Perfect fit, easy to install, combined with the Toshiba 240Gb SSD also from Amazon my two laptops are now different beasts completely. Happy geek :)

Simplemente perfecto. Lo compré para incorporar mi HDD viejo al portátil, al que había instalado un SSD, y funciona sin problemas. Ligero, y de calidad. Incluye tornillería y un mini-destornillador para anclar el disco. Merece la pena. EDITO: El adaptador funcionaba aparentemente bien, pero al rato de instalarlo descubrí que la CPU de mi portátil estaba funcionando a la máxima frecuencia constantemente, por lo que las temperaturas se dispararon. Jamás imaginé que el caddy fuera la causa. Tras buscar hasta debajo de las piedras, leí que este tipo de adaptadores traen un interruptor oculto (al lado de la conexión al disco duro que vaya a alojar). Una vez accionado el interruptor el portátil volvió a comportarse como de costumbre.

Très bon accessoire, montage universel puisqu’au dimension d’un lecteur optique d’ordi portable. On peut facilement y ajouter la façade du lecteur d’origine. Disque dur/ssd reconnu immédiatement par le bios et l’os, et aucun soucis soucis de boot. Pour les débits je ne peux pas donner de résultats fiables vu que je l’ai monté dans un netbook en sata2

Alles was zum Einbau benötigt wird gibt es mit dazu und ist ordentlich verpackt. Der Rahmen passte perfekt in den Schacht, der Adapter funktioniert einwandfrei und die Frontblende ließ sich ebenfalls mühelos einrasten. Ich wüsste nicht, was man an diesem Produkt noch verbessern könnte. - Vielen Dank.
