Great Device
I was really wanting an Analogue Pocket but they are back ordered well into next year. I went looking for a emulator device (Yes, I know the Analogue Pocket is FPGA) using the same form factor and I found this guy. After trying a couple different custom firmware to find the one I liked the best, I settled on ArkOS, this is more for personal preference than anything else so don't let it persuade you too much. The screen is amazing and I've been using it to play GBA games that I never had a chance to play, which I think is its strongest use. Yes it can play PSX, 8, and 16 bit consoles, but it really is perfect for GBA. Can't recommend enough and the 2 MicroSD slots is great.

Simply amazing
I bought this device in hopes of doing some nostalgia gaming, this device did not disappoint. It came loaded with all the Pokémon games I was hoping for and ready to go out of the box. The ui is a little clunky but after watching a few tutorials on YouTube it is easy enough to get the hang of it, mainly saving games, closing the games properly and the correct way to power down the device. Once you get that down it’s like being transported back to the late 90s early 2000s with that classic gbc feel. Plays games amazingly. Only real issue is the battery life is not great, only lasts about 5.5-6 hours on a full charge with no sound on. Wish it didn’t have an internal rechargeable battery, instead it would have been better if it ran on aaa or aa batteries. For me the price is totally worth it for the Pokémon titles alone: heart gold, silver, fire red, yellow, crystal, ruby, sapphire, emerald and several more. Will be looking into replacing both sd cards with upgraded ones for reliability as the ones included are a cheap generic brand.

An Honest review
I’ll start strong and say they should’ve spent the extra $15 it would take to give this a better cpu/gpu/ram. It struggles to run ps1 games like gran turismo 1/2 and I feel that’s a pretty low barrier. I’m playing at 720p 60hz for reference, but at the same time if you adjust settings and play with it it’ll run no problem at all. PSP games however don’t even bother trying, unless you run it 180p 50hz the game doesn’t really run, I got it to work at 720p after some frame skipping and overclocking the cpu. That’s why I give it three stars. It works and for the money it is worth it, it just leaves so much to be desired and could’ve been fixed with a slightly better cpu/gpu. If you’re on the fence save $200 (if that’s an option for you) and go get a better device. For a kid or anyone who wants to play Gameboy or Nintendo (not ds) it’s perfect.

Good enough
Does its job, but the software interface can be difficult to navigate. Once you figure it out it’s fine. Allows kids to have something to play with on long trips and serves its purpose.

Awesome little device. Especially for the money
Runs like a champ. I use to run emulators on my pc starting back around 2006. WOW to ever imagine back then. That you could emulate every console and fit it in your pocket with 5hr battery life. I was a big tech guy and futurist back then. I still probably would not believe it was possible in such a short time and for $60 even in 2006 money

Display (Screen) issues **Updated 1/21/2024**
**UPDATED REVIEW** The reason for this screen issue had something to do with the custom firmware or OS (operating system) I was running on it, which was JelOS and even 351Elec. This device can run both of these perfectly but in order for the screen to function properly and not do this you have to get a specific screen driver file for this display. These custom firmwares work on several of these handhelds and the developers of these custom firmwares update the drivers the best they can in order to work universally on the devices that they support. This device is several years old so the display drivers on these current custom firmware’s don’t work anymore with this specific device and you would need to Google and find the display driver file for the RG351V and then transfer it into the folder of whatever custom firmware you want to use. People have already done this and so have i, but they explain it. It’s a simple drag and drop solution and finding the file is easy. Just search “RG351V display driver”. That should get you started in the right direction. Point is, this handheld is not broken or defective, it’s simply a driver issue that’s easily fixable. **INITIAL REVIEW** Though this is a fantastic product, it really is, I’m having issues with the display not displaying anything after being turned off and then back on again and when I wake the device from sleep. This happens after using it for awhile. When I take a break from playing, I come back to it and the screen doesn’t show anything. It’s on but no sound and no picture. It takes several times for it to do this but the display will inevitably stop working. I’m tech savvy and extremely familiar with these, I own several just like it. I’ve never had an issue like this. I’ve opened it up and checked the internals and there’s nothing wrong with any of the ribbon cables and nothing wrong with the screen ribbon cable, nothing is damaged or nothing looked damaged. I just got this as well. I’ve only had it for a week and the screen issues happened ON THE FIRST DAY I had it. The only way I can get the screen to work again is if I take it apart then put it back together. It’s really weird. Turning it off and on DOES NOT FIX IT AT ALL. So I obviously have a defective display. My advice to anyone buying is buy with caution. 50/50 chance that you also could end up with a defective display. I read someone else had the same issue.

All You Can Play
Worth every penny! Easy to use. Fun to play. Holds up to all testing. If you know how to find old games, then this thing can play them. Comes with a ton of games in it to start, but super easy to put new ones on there.
