This stud finder worked exactly the way I needed it to. The LCD screen is clear, the beeping is easy to understand, and it consistently found studs and wires without me having to guess. I used it for hanging shelves and a TV mount, and it made the whole process faster and less stressful. Good tool for the price.

Pretty solid stud finder with the caveat that it has to be calibrated every time you use it. Plus, if you don't know your stud size it can inaccurately find where a "stud" is or isn't. I'd say it's around 80-90% accurate and I normally verify the stud is there with a quick tap test. I am also not a big fan that the stud finder and the electrical wiring finder aren't integrated (meaning you have to use the stud finding mode and then switch to the electrical mode). This is just an extra step and other stud finders I've used will tell you when you find a stud if there is electrical wiring there too. The size of the unit is pretty reasonable, it's durable and holds up well, and so far haven't had any issues with battery life.

Piece of crap couldnt find anything even calibrating it in a non stud area then moving it across studs drilled about 8 holes in my ceiling asked AI said I should use the 1.5" mode which I was and then it sayd to use the Metal mode to track down the nails and it seem to show them in a straight line so I drilled on those and not a damn stud after 5 more holes.....8 or 9 holes later Im headed to Homedepot

I found the studfinder extremely accurate. I had to install a dog door through our exterior wall, and being an older home, must of us know a stud can literally be at any location. I turned the unit on, and set the wall parameters and started my scan. The easy to see screen and its ability to place arrors at the direction you need to go and finally the two arrows pointing in at the same time indicationg the center of the stud as well as location of the outer edges was really close. After i installed the door and played around with the unit more, and its ability to find wires and pipes too, was simply amazing. Now it didnt work trying to scan through aluminum siding or metal which is for obvious reasons never going to work, but then it wasnt designed too. I am very happy this this instrument, and sure beats the old fashioned kind that literally were usually not accurate at best. The learning curve is pretty straight forward as our the settings, and a quick read over of instructions on the unit, makes it easy to use ina short order. I highly reccoment this unit, and perfect for most applications. As with any stud finder though, drill a small hole and check your stud location to insure you are where you need to be. With any electronic device there can always be a miscalulation in some instances so play smart. Overall I gave this unit a 5 for wase of use, and all the abilities of scans it can perform. The unit feels durable and comes in a nice storage sleeve. If you need to a device to find wires or pipes or even that stud this unit is worth a try. I am completely happy.
