I am so delighted we went with the Ecovacs Goat. Some pertinent background; we live in Florida and let me tell you with our daily summer rainstorms our grass needs to be cut every 5 days or so. We only have grass in the front and on the sides of the house. The grass covers just under 1/4 acre. Set up out of the box was intuitive and pretty easy, in my opinion. I should note I do not consider myself exceptionally tech savvy either. I was able to sync with my home WiFi in under a minute. The unit updated for about 10 minutes and then it was time to sync with the satellites. The process was simple, the first time it only synced with 19 satellites but it was super easy to restart the process. The second time around I made sure I was more than 2 feet away. Worked like a charm! Once I had the unit synced with satellites. It was time to map our property. I found the process rather intuitive and honestly quite quick for what was taking place. After mapping was complete I let the robot charge to full and decided to run it for a cut. The robot did a beautiful job. Our lawn looked as good as if we had used the push mower ourselves. I really like that this ecovacs model doesn’t have a perimeter wire. I can’t imagine how time and energy intensive installing a perimeter wire might be. The real time GPS navigation is working flawlessly for us. Another cool feature is the LiDAR to detect obstacles and the subsequently avoid the obstacles. Our oldest son had left a hose out during a mow that we missed. The ecovacs robot avoided the hose thus saving us an expense replacing it. The ecovacs robot is surprisingly quiet, magnitudes upon magnitudes quieter than our push mower. It also has a zero cutting edge which actually works, we definitely will not have to edge every time we mow with how good this robot mows edges. The app is amazing and so easy to use. I can customize zones and schedule mowings all from the comfort of my house when I have a spare minute. Battery life was more than enough to finish mowing our whole lawn in one charge. Overall I am beyond delighted with the performance of this robot mower for all the reasons mentioned. I really did not find anything worthy of a complaint.

Update: I am adding this update and dropped the rating because we bought a Segway Navimow 110 and it is flawless. Set up and mapping were easy. It actually mows non stop with no input. Camera actually detects obsticals, Adjust its cut directions 60* each time, MUCH better battery life. This has met the standard of what we expected. I’ll start off by saying, when this thing works we loved it. Bought it with the expectation that it would regularly cut our lawn (less then 1/4 acre) for us and we could weed wack and mow here and there if needed for clean up. It has a pretty nice cut, missing strips sometimes but I adjusted the direction regularly (manually) and it generally got it next time. It generally does a good job making consistent cut lines back and forth, occasionally got stuck but only on steeper inclines where it ended up caught on something because it was struggling to turn. It ran at night multiple times flawlessly. It’s quiet, you really only hear the blades cutting the grass and that’s when you’re close to it. The set up was super quick, and the manual mapping didn’t give me too many issues. Minor downsides I found were that it really would need to spend 12+ hours cutting to get through everything. The dual blade one might be worth upgrade if you wanted it to minimize the cut time. I found that having it mow pretty much every day it actually did the job quicker likely because less cutting resistance extended battery. There is an option on the app to set and change mow direction but it only had an option to alternate weekly. I could see this tearing up the lawn when it makes its turns to come back if you were cutting every day. Probably a relatively easy software fix. I found adjusting the map boundaries to be more challenging than it should be. My neighbor has another brand that he can go into the app and pull or push boundary lines with his finger. The deal break for us was that it consistently lost its signal. We had 20-30 satellites and a “strong” connection. It would be mowing fine and then have errors like “lost rtk signal” or “out of bounds” even though it was dead center in the yard. It seemed to happen during the day consistently so I don’t know if it is overly sensitive to heat (hasn’t been over 85 but it is direct sunlight). Other times it would just stop, show in the app that it was in the charger and it would be somewhere else completely in the yard…sometimes still moving. Losing the signal caused sporadic behavior though. Support was OK, I only used the app messenger, did not try to call. Per their instructions I moved the RTK at least 3 times, remapped the whole yard probably 5-10 times. Did a hard reset to the mower, powered on and off time and time again. Ultimately ours has been having issues pretty much since it came out of the box and due to that it’s going back before the return period ends. I am tempted to buy another and hope we just got a dud and that is saying something but we might have to go with a different brand.

Review: ECOVACS Goat O1000 RTK I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to try a robot lawn mower. I’ve had robot vacuums and loved the convenience, but mowing the lawn always felt like one of those chores that couldn’t really be automated properly. After a few weeks with the ECOVACS Goat O1000 RTK, I’ve completely changed my mind. This thing isn’t just a gadget—it’s a genuine game changer for anyone who’s tired of spending weekends behind a mower. Unboxing and First Impressions The first thing that stood out to me was the packaging. This mower didn’t just show up tossed in a box with some foam around it—ECOVACS clearly put thought into how it’s presented. Everything was tightly packed, protected, and easy to find. The mower itself looked like something out of a sci-fi movie when I pulled it out—sleek, modern, and surprisingly compact. Even the accessories had their own organized compartments, which made the whole setup feel less intimidating. I’ve unpacked my share of outdoor gear that comes with missing pieces or confusing instruction sheets. Not here. The instructions were straightforward, everything was labeled clearly, and nothing felt like a mystery part. From unboxing to having it charging at the dock in my yard, the entire process took me maybe an hour—and most of that was just deciding where to put the docking station. Setup Without the Hassle What really blew me away is how little setup this mower needs. If you’ve looked at robot mowers before, you probably know a lot of them require you to install perimeter wires around your entire yard. That was always the dealbreaker for me—I don’t have the time or patience to dig wires into the ground just to try a mower. The Goat O1000 doesn’t need any of that. It felt almost too easy compared to what I expected. Build and Design The Goat O1000 looks like a modern piece of tech, not a clunky machine you’d be embarrassed to leave in the yard. It has a low profile that helps it slip under trees and bushes, and the wheels have enough grip to handle bumps and slight hills without spinning out. The body feels solid and durable—like it’s built to handle outdoor life without me worrying about every little scratch. The dock is compact, weather-resistant, and blends in better than I thought it would. It doesn’t take over the space like a huge charging shed; it’s more like a small station that tucks into the background. The First Mow When it started mowing, I expected it to wander randomly like some early robot vacuums I’ve seen. Instead, it moved in neat, organized patterns, making sure every strip of grass was covered. It didn’t rush, and it didn’t miss spots. After it finished, my lawn looked more evenly cut than it usually does when I mow it myself. What really impressed me was how close it gets to the edges. With other robot mowers, you usually have to come back with a trimmer to fix the borders, but this one has edge-trimming built in. My lawn looks great, I spend almost no time maintaining it, and I’ve freed up hours every week to actually enjoy being outside instead of pushing a mower around. If you’re on the fence about trying a robot mower, this one makes it easy. No wires, no headaches, just a well-built, smart machine that does what it promises. It’s not cheap, but if you value your time and want a lawn that looks consistently cared for, the Goat O1000 is worth every penny.

I once owned a Robomow R500 several years ago, an old perimeter wire robotic mower and loved it. But after repairing breaks in the wire, several battery replacements (lead acid), you learn. What I liked about it was it had three streel blades each about 8in long and angled down. It could cut through really thick tall grass and it had a wide cutting area. I ran that for close to 10years. We named it "Curly" for Moe (mow), Larry and Curly. It eventually went to storage. So my wife gave me permission to buy a new one. So after a lot of looking, I wanted an RTK (hi-fidelity GPS) based model with some AI and computer vision smarts. One that showed up on my radar was the Ecovac GOAT O10000 RTK. It did everything the Mammotion Luba (my first choice), but the O1000 had a more budget friendly price. My biggest concern with the O10000 was the size and robustness of the single blade systems; the small cut size, and the 3 razor disk. After a couple of weeks of use now I can relax some. I've replaced the blades set once already but maybe could have gotten a few more cuts; the size of those blades seems to be standardized so no issue. The Ecovac app works well with the GOAT O1000 although it takes a while to learn. For example, I have a Front yard, back yard, behind the garage yard and the side of the house yard. The backyard is enclosed with a chainlink fence. So I needed a path that would connect the front-yard, (sections; I split it into 2 zones seperated by the front sidewalk) and side-yard so I created that joined all of those. One charge will get the the front and another will get will get the back. What is so amazing, is once it's all mapped out and connected with the path the robot is all automatic. It mows it all in straight lines (you set the angle) and it can be scheduled to do all automatic. It is impressive how well it works. Sharp blades cut nice lawns so the results have been great. The charging takes about 1 1/2-2hr for 100%. So on mowdays (I'm mowing every 2days) I have zone(3)(2)(1) for the morning, then a 2hr rest (charge time), then zone(4) for the last time. It's amazingly automatic and more or less hassle free. The only hassles I've had was the initial setup. In my first attempt, I place the robot under my steps hiding it from the weather... but that was a no-no. The robot itself needs to see clean GPS signals (regardless of the RTK pole). So having the robot base (charger) away from buildings or overhanging structures is important. While it has a generous amount of wire from the charge station to the power transformer, you need an outlet for it. I had one available but still needed a waterproof extension cord from the outlet to the power transformer. It's all water proof so no problem, leaving everything uncovered. Anyway, once you get it all setup, you use the phone app (android or apple) to map the zones. It has automapping so it uses AI and computer vision to find an walk next to edges. You can manually take over for other operations to direct the mapping and later do manual no-mow zones. Once done, and your zone is done, it's ready to go. Once you have zones defined, you just setup the paths connecting all you zones and your all set. I have mine doing front and side yards in pass one but it passes through the back gate. If I forget to open the gate, it simply returns to the charger base. If it's open, it just follows the path right to the front section and goes to town. So I've noticed it doesn't like tall tufts of onion-grass which is common in the "Bluegrass State" and see those as osbsticles. It handles the front yard tree well. I found it could not create a zone for a very narrow strip, it needs about 4ft width to create a zone, but mine was about 2 1/2ft. So you may still need a small mower for trimming and string trimmer. It's a great machine, and value at sub $1000 at the moment. All and all, I'm already loving the Ecovac Goat O1000 RTK advanced robotic mower. Seriously 5 star. Update: I've used now about 30+ times and I don't think I would ever go back. The lawn is looking great an I've had very few issues with it. The app software takes a little time to learn how to map your lawn and connect everything with paths. My only frustration the manually steered mode would always disengage the mower left go of the steering button So you would have to stop and re-engage the the mower blades and resume (for example if you loose Bluetooth connectivity in manual mode). I had it get stuck twice at two specific locations in my lawn (which were holes I needed to fill in my lawn). If you have bushes that over hang low to the yard, the robot will assume they are obstacles and not go under them. However, what a time saver.. The front, sides and backyards are all mapped out, and I run the 'GoatyO' about every 2 days, first doing the back, then the front and sides. The biggest issue I had was placing the RTK tower and mower in a suitable location, as it needed to be away from the house and have electricity. Both the robot and tower have to see a min of 25 satellites and at first I thought it was just the RTK tower. The other small issue is it cuts the grass shorter than I'm used to. I have it set to it's max which looks nice. I would also recommend when you do your mapping to cut and edge the grass first so that it has a clear look at the obstacles, like sidewalk edges, fences, garden edging, etc. All and all it's the best deal going. I don't ever want to go back. Beats that summer heat. OK Late summer update; still 5-star. The grass cut is excellent! It works with the Huskavarna(s) blades. I have some extra-long titanium (from Amazon) that work better than any stainless. It goes out once or twice a week, gets through most grass up to about 8in tall. It has a few quirks you learn. Like it doesn't like crawling under low overhanging bushes or sunken sidewalks (you need to do those in manual mode). It really is all automatic. And on a 100F day, do you really want to mow grass? Setup takes thinking and is not easy but once you've done it get a feel for the software; the little Goat can MOW!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and am returning it. The product description says it can do .25 acres a day. I have a good amount of land, but figured I could mow one zone per day. I didn't care if it took 5 days because it would still save me a ton of time. After trying to map out my 4th zone, I was met with a "Your map cannot exceed 10,700sqft." error. Ecovacs caps the map size, so the only way to mow a larger area is to buy a more expensive model. I reached out to Ecovacs directly to see if there was a workaround and they told me to buy one of their other models. This mower would be 100% capable of mowing my entire yard if it weren't for the map limitation in the app. Aside from that, I was incredibly happy with it. The RTK worked great in my yard surrounded by trees. The mower cuts great and was very precise. My yard is complex. It handles most terrain and scenarios without any problems. The only issues it had were with the trampoline and hammock. I had to set up a no-go zone. It got stuck on the trampoline leg and tried to dig a hole to China. It never shut off. The wheels kept spinning and digging. It's certainly slow but it's perfect for a small yard. I'm only giving this 2 stars because of the deceptive practices by Ecovacs....very uncool. I decided to go with an Anthbot 3000 for $999 instead of Ecovacs equivalent for $2,500!

Update Aug 2025: The warranty process went very well. Ecovacs customer support has been excellent. Communication was prompt and the new mower arrived quickly. I did not have to pay any shipping. I am still amidst the set-up process with the new mower, and I'm working through some kinks with the mapping. I will update again when things are up and running smoothly. Update July 2025: I had very successful use of the robot for 2 months. Then, a disabling error code appeared which will not go away, despite much troubleshooting, a factory reset, and contacting customer support. Customer support has been very responsive and offers warranty support. I am currently in that process, and I will update this review again regarding how that goes. For now, I've removed one star, and I will eventually reevaluate my rating pending the warranty process and my experience with a replacement (or repaired) robot. The timing is inconvenient, as during the hottest part of the summer, I find myself needing to manually mow with my push mower, which I am not able to do due to health issues with the heat. (Hence, the reason I purchased this product.) I think it is important to keep in mind, if you are considering purchasing a robotic mower (of any brand) that you will still need to be prepared to suddenly mow manually, again, in the event of a technical issue. I still feel that the Ecovacs Goat 1000Rtk is a very good product based on how extremely well it worked before the error code. I think it is reasonable to expect that any highly precise computerized machine, with complex AI and moving parts, which is constantly exposed to outdoor elements, can always be susceptible to technical glitches. I look forward to the completion of a repair or a replacement. After being able to use the Ecovacs Goat again, I will provide another future update. Original review: This Ecovacs Goat robotic lawnmower has made such a difference for me health wise, and it works so much better than I ever dreamed it would! The decision to buy: I found myself needing to take care of my parents’ huge lawn. I decided that I could mow it with my small push mower, if I mowed a section every day or two. Then, the grass started growing faster, and it got hot. Soon, I found myself needing to mow every single day to stay on top of it. I have some health issues that really limit my energy levels, especially in the heat. After mowing each day, I was left with almost no energy left to accomplish other things that day, and the mowing was also triggering asthma. I was about to call a lawn service, which would cost $100 per mow. We had used them before, and the very large machines would yank out the grass and create big ruts, so I really didn’t want to do that. Then, I found the Ecovacs Goat on Amazon! I was really hesitant to spend the money, but after watching a lot of You Tube videos and studying the reviews, I took a chance and got it. This is honestly one of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon. Set-up and use: Right out of the box, it was fairly easy to do the initial set-up and the auto mapping. In just a couple of areas, I needed to steer it myself, using the app, and once I got the hang of it that was pretty easy, too (and fun.) I did find the instructions included were somewhat confusing, especially because they showed a diagram of a different model, referencing buttons that mine did not have. Thankfully, I had watched enough YouTube videos and read enough reviews that I was able to figure it out. (So I highly recommend that you watch some videos and read the reviews while you are waiting for your robot to arrive, as that did really help ease the set up process for me. Despite the instructions being a little lacking, the set-up is actually not difficult at all, and the robot does a very good job of auto mapping. I have also read other reviews stating that Ecovacs customer service is very helpful, so there is always that option if you need help. I did not need to do that though. Once you have the lawn mapped and zones created, the app is very straightforward to use, and the mowing is really fun to watch! The robot does a beautiful job of mowing perfectly straight lines. The only thing to note, is that if you have a very tall weed, like a 6-8 inch tall dandelion, it will think something is there and avoid it. (I find that you can just stomp on the dandelion, so that it is tilted over, and that seems to enable the robot to mow it. Yes, I know that spreads the seeds, but I’ll be doing some spraying too, lol.) After mowing an area, the robot will go back to any spots where it thinks there was an obstacle, and mow around it if it is still there. So if you accidentally leave something in the yard, like a bucket, dog toy, etc., you can go move it and the robot will come back and mow that area at the end of mowing that section. This robot navigates hills and uneven terrain quite well. Our ground is pretty uneven (remember those ruts I mentioned earlier created by the lawnmowing service?) There are also several hills which I expected I would surely still need to do myself with the push mower. The robot, however, handles those with no problem! I was so shocked and extremely pleased! Conclusion: This little robot mower is very well designed, functions extremely well, and is very easy to use. I cannot recommend it highly enough! This will be especially helpful to seniors and anyone with health issues who finds it a challenge to physically mow. I am very impressed with the amount of lawn this little robot can mow. I didn’t initially believe my robot friend would be able to do the entire lawn, because it is slightly larger than the size listed, so initially I had planned on still mowing the front lawn myself….but, what a delightful surprise, he easily does the whole thing, front and back, slightly over 1/4th acre! Final thoughts: If you aren’t physically able to mow, or you have limited time for mowing, this is another wonderful option instead of using an expensive lawn service. This robot cost much less, over the long run, and it really does a perfectly beautiful job. It is quieter and much better for the lawn too! I am so happy with this purchase, and I highly recommend it!

I’ve had robotic vacuums for several years but had been hesitant on the mower side. Vacuums are easy because they have walls to bounce into and flat surfaces, and the price has come down a ton. Mowers on the other hand have hills, divots, sunshine and clouds, rain, a ton of boundary types etc. I had zero interest in burying boundary wires, but with RTK+cameras and lidar and the price coming down substantially, they’re finally within a normal price range for the average customer. So far I’ve been very pleased with ours. Getting it set up was really easy just download the app, plug it in and mount the RTK antenna (the cord is super long, we ended up putting it on the garage since we have a lot of trees). I was worried about our tree density but the spot above the garage we got 30 satellites. Navigation was a breeze just let it auto map and it did a great job picking up various borders such as mulch, bushes, house, trampoline, swingset, retaining wall, etc. Zoning worked well and manually adding obstructions. Wasn’t sure how well it would cross the driveway but was able to set up a path in the app and it did great. We have about a 20 degree hill in the backyard and it’s done better than I thought it would even with a little wet grass in the morning. I’m interested to see how well the blades hold up and what that’s like to change but so far about 15 hours in they still seem razor sharp despite running over a few tree branches. All in all I’m so glad we got this and the time I’m getting back with my family not doing yard work. A little week trimming around some trees and that’s about it now.

Read bottom new update.. I had initially considered rating this product 3.5 stars. The setup process in May was straightforward, though the mapping proved to be quite challenging. It required some effort to achieve proper cutting, but after approximately three months, its performance was exceptional. Subsequently, it began to exhibit issues, frequently displaying error messages such as "needs help" or "can't find its way back to charging station." It would often cease operation mid-task and remain stationary until its battery depleted. Despite indicating it was at the charging station, it would be found elsewhere, inactive. The recurring request for a PIN is also something I would prefer to disable. For two months, I experienced persistent problems until I uninstalled and reinstalled the application two weeks ago. Following this, it resumed normal operation, no longer stopping during tasks. It seemed there was a communication breakdown between the application and the robot. However, upon restarting, it would halt in the middle of the yard every five minutes, necessitating constant supervision. Fortunately, it is now functioning correctly again. New update this mower is completely junk hasn't been a year this thing will not complete the task now stops dead in middle of its task the app glitches back and forth mowing complete then mowing 4% complete and it say mower back at station i even try relocate the station remade map 5 times its nothing but pain dont buy this mower it keeps asking for pin i wish they had a away turn off the pin waste of money.. all yea did a 360 at its station for 2 minutes funny part u find 0 videos of people complaining its all but good reviews its like they get paid make reviews..
