This thing is HUGE! My dogs could not get enough of it for Christmas! It does have a sort of dog bone smell, which is to be expected. You could tell they loved the taste of it as they chewed for hours. It doesn't break like the other cheap bones, so you don't need to worry about them choking on breakable parts.

This bone is definately not for a medium size dog. Its great for a big dog. Its hard to chew so it will last longer. I should have purchased the size below.

We have had both versions of these bones. We will also continue buying them lol. Yes yes they are messy, but most bones are. The bones are extra large so a little extra mess. Yes there are small pieces that can break odd. As with any bone you have to watch them. As Brie knocks chunks off I throw them away. We have had zero health or digestive issues. Dog loves the taste and the smell could be worse. Our girl is a power chewer. Anything else we have found that says long lasting is a joke. The mammoth bones are her favorite. It literally lasted more than 3 months. She chews the messy part off fairly quickly but unlike other bones we have bought she doesn’t stop there. She keeps going back just to chew. They may seem expensive but it is worth it!!!

Nopppppeeeeeee! Won’t ever give my dogs a dried smoked bone like this again. First, it gave him the absolute WORSE gas I’ve ever had to endure with a dog ever. Second, and most importantly, my local meat butcher informed me that smoked dried bones are severely brittle and a can pose a health risk with bone chipping; we immediately took his and in-store customer’s advice to give our dog fresh cut beef bones 🤌🏻 These dried smoked bones pose a serious safety hazard and being a serious animal/pet lover I can’t do it.

So far I've made 2 purchases of the mammoth bone. The bone arrived very meaty looking and big enough for the largest dogs. Once all the good stuff is eaten off, the bone still provides a long lasting chew bone. Though I've seen small chunks chewed off from the knuckles that I'll remove for safety, the small chunks are not too hard to be chewed if your dog does try to eat one. One really good thing is I've never seen any splintering with these bones. Once the knuckles are gone I usually throw it out and buy a new one. They do last a good while and are worth the cost for the durability. As long as nothing changes from my experiences with my first two purchases, I would recommend these bones.

I purchased this for my Gerberian Shepsky for Christmas. To my amazement, he was not impressed. He was happier with a ball. So I put it up for a month and pulled it out again. He still was not impressed. However, I had purchased a smaller bone for my Pomsky and he took to that one only after she chewed on it a while. Now she’s working on his larger bone. I like that it does not smell. It is definitely sturdy and it must be tasty because now they can’t get enough of them.
