Great beginner friendly mic
Great quality and software supported to easily fine tune the audio for your voice and use (gaming, podcasting, audio recording, etc.). The stand is okay, I installed mine on a boom arm from my previous mic with the included adapter. I've never done any sort of audio processing/editing, so it took me a couple hours to understand what each of the settings did. Once I figured it out, I was able to cut 99% of background noise and use my desk speakers without the audio backfeeding into the mic. The pickup is directional, so I recommend getting an arm that can aim the mic directly at your source for the best audio quality and noise canceling. I don't use the available XLR input, but it's an awesome feature if you have an audio mixer.

Versatile, great-sounding mic
As a newbie podcaster who came across Maono's affordable audio equipment, tried it, liked it, and became something of a loyalist, I was intrigued when they announced this and bought it from the brand directly on launch day. I've since purchased another because these things work great in pairs โ a single (included) wireless USB dongle can accommodate two PD200W mics. The build quality is more plasticky than other Maono mics, especially the solidly built (and my personal fave) PD400X, but that helps with portability. I can stuff two of these plus their dongle and a Macbook in an ordinary backpack and it's pretty much a full recording setup. No cables, no preamp, no phantom power needed. Of course, the great thing about the PD200W is that you *can* fall back to USB or XLR if you prefer. Though I'm not a huge fan of the clunky Maono app, it does its job and handles firmware updates, equalizer, and mic configuration well enough once you figure out its quirks. I would love to see a more native Mac-like GUI and behavior on Maono's macOS app. On-mic/In-app noise reduction needs intervention on your part. There are three stages, and the most aggressive can leave the speaker sounding underwater. You'll need to dial it in along with the very adjustable gain. But once you find the sweet spot, it's (IMHO) a great sounding mic: warm, clear and intimate. Incidentally, the LED ring is gimmicky but kinda fun and is actually helpful when you're ID'ing mics at a glance during AV setup. It also doesn't seem to ding battery life severely. I can probably safely get eight hour-long recording sessions out of a single charge. The long and short is that, for the price, it's hard to beat this level of performance and these features. Hence the five stars and the PD200W becoming my mic of choice for most sessions. A higher sticker price would probably result in more than nit-picking on my part and dinging it a star. Pro tip: If you're a klutz and break the bespoke windscreen, the PD200X windscreens available on the Maono website (sadly, not here on Amazon) function as a slip-on replacement.

Nice device
Nice device, seems well made. Solid constructed. I need to find something that is on a pivoting arm and a better set up location. Had to return, at the height it is, didn't make it a good purchase.

Great support team
I had a very niche issue with this mic, and originally was super annoyed with this mic. Upon finding out, their amazing support team made things right and made me like the Maono brand. Nonetheless the micโs quality is very good. Overall I would recommend this due to great sound and excellent customer service!

Dangerous companion software
The product is well built and good quality. But the software is flagged by my antivirus for containing a trojan virus. Check Google to corroborate that, many users had the same experience. How is that possible for in theory a respectable brand? Disappointing and dangerous.

Beginner, Intermediate, and Professional Friendly!
Wow! I honestly didn't expect this microphone to be so good, but it surprised me and I'm grateful for that. The USB allows for extensive customization of your EQ as well as your limiter, compressor, and noise gate. But it also has an xlr port, so if you want to expand with the microphone, you can. It's very portable, and the sound is good. The only downside is that the microphone starts to high pass, so you have to set it to flat yourself. Remember to update your firmware after purchasing to ensure that the microphone actually works 10/10.

Extension not threaded correctly! Will purchase FiFine microphone if no resolution with Maono.
Have tried everything to screw extension to microphone, but will screw to base! Tried dozens of times but it will not start the screwing in process.

Perfec for Streamers and Podcasters!
Iโve been using the MaonoCaster E2 Gen2 for podcasting and streaming, and itโs been a game-changer. The dual XLR inputs are perfect for having a guest or co-host, and the sound quality is clean and professional. The interface is user-friendly with responsive knobs and fun sound effects. Built-in voice effects, noise reduction, and multiple outputs make this an all-in-one setup for beginners and experienced creators alike. Highly recommend it for anyone building a podcast or livestream setup!

Put this one on your short list!
First off, I started my podcast with the worst condenser mics Maono had to offer at the time and to say those were garbage is an understatement. But I can't believe how far they've come in just 5 years! The PD300X might not be the mic you're looking for, but it should definitely be on your radar if you're just starting out and looking for a high quality experience on a budget. The PD300X is a combo USB / XLR mic specifically marketed at podcasters / live streamers and out of the box you get a very robust mostly "all metal" mic with robust rubber shock absorber and a very high quality pop filter. The microphone capsule is all metal and the onboard controls are very simple. A volume knob and a mute button. Both the USB and XLR ports are on the back. And out the box with no processing this mic actually sounds "ok". I know, shocking right!?!? But it really does! And here's the big one for me. The Maono Link software that is absolutely essential to get the most out of the PD300X is now available on Mac for OS 13.5 or later. While the software does have some preset scenes for podcasting, recording and gaming, they are garbage and you should take the time to add your own preset based on your own ear. For that you have a full EQ so you can get the PD300X dialled in just right for your voice. Spec wise the mic has a cardioid polar pattern. Bit depth / Sample Rate - 24but / 192 kHZ which is probably overkill for most "talk" applications. Sensitivity - XLR -52dBV Sensitivity -USB- -10.5dBS/Pa (Max) and up to +42 dB of gain which I never even came close to needing in USB mode. overall this is a great mic for beginners and intermediates that don't want to spend big bucks on a big brand name. But this mic performs great for the price point and should be on your short list. You can get it right now on sale for $139.54 CAD (Regular $146.88 CAD) without a stand or $189.99 CAD with an all metal desk stand. The desk stand doesn't add enough value to justify the price difference but it is convenient to get it all in one box. This is absolutely a 5 star. Totally recommended.

Fenomenal
