It has an unusual color but a pleasant appearance and aroma for novice cooks . If you use a small amount in your dish people will be intrigued by what your secret mystery ingredients are in your food or sauce. This original Major Grey's Chutney flavor pairs well with fatty meat, cheese or in the old fashion gourmet "Bridesmaids Chicken Salad" . I even mix a teaspoon of it in my favorite(1) Bottled BBQ, (2) jam , or (3) an "Asian" dipping sauce using a mixture of ginger, soy,and Major Greys for a dipping sauce. It's a secret powerhouse. I like the size of the jar and the variety of spices and fruit in Stone wall Kitchen Major Grey's Chutney. The seller packaged it really well in bubble wrap so that the seal was intact. No cracked glass or leakage.
