Came fully assembled--all i had to do was loosen and turn the knob to adjust to my head size. Really easy and nice size adjustment mechanism. The knob locks in place by just pressing in on it. The head band is nicely padded and very comfortable. The first day it arrived I used it as I was cutting down tree branches in a very narrow space. Branches struck me in the head multiple times but the hard hat performed perfectly. The fulll brim kept Branches away from my face and neck. Excellent product.
