Smart Rope Tangram, Jump Rope, Led Counter

Whoever wrote the 5 star review has to be associated with the company. This product in no way lives up what it is promoted to be. Firstly, I bought this for the neat feature (supposed) of being able to see an LED display in the air as I skip, counting skips. I don't care who you are, or what speed you skip at, all you will see is a light, not a decipherable #. So if you are buying it for this feather, forget it. (I did not try it in the total dark, rather a in a gym, but I don't plan to skip in the dark so who cares if the light is better seen in the dark).Secondly, the LED component at the bottom of the rope (which is supposed to display the light in the air as you skip) is inflexible. It does not flatten out as you skip, rather stays curved (yes even after it is warmed up). As such it is not a good skipping rope.Thirdly, I went by their suggested sizing for my height (and I went conservative since I'd rather it too long than too short). The rope is too short so to skip at all I have to move my hands to the edges of the handle to get over my head.Save your money. I am a gadget guy, but the promotion features of this product are just plain untrue. I will credit the Bluetooth feather as working though. The IOS App does count skips, but there are many ropes at cheaper prices offering this.

As the developer of a jump rope fitness program called New Jump Swing as well as the celebrity chairperson for the Hawaii chapter of the American Heart Associations Jump Rope for Heart campaign, I was more than a little curious about this rope. After all, I started jumping rope with one I made with my mother's old clothes line more than 30 years ago. If you are a part of the fitness tech league then this is the rope for you. I call it the Rolls Royce of Ropes. And yes, you get what you pay for. The idea of seeing the jumps in front of you is cool to say the least but when its all said and done, what this rope does for you is the same as any Fitbit or other device that lets you measure your workout. The Smart Gym app let's you track and set goals to help you reach your goals it also has a BMI Tracker and Calorie Calculator.It is both Android and Iphone compatible. I have an iphone 5 and it works fine.However, I had an Android phone and kept the USB plug, my iphone USB did not fit into the port.Now there are some tings that I must tell you. Obviously at this price, this is NOT a child's toy. This is a serious piece of exercise equipment that I would NEVER use on a street or playground surface. I don't know the testing that was done with the durability but since the electronics are in the center of the rope, I would not take the risk of destroying the rope.For we tech people it would be good to see a study that shows how much pounding the rope can take without problems to it's inner workings.Techniques like doubles or one that I developed called NJS doubles with a cross over would put a lot of force onto the middle of the rope. I would only use this rope on indoor smooth surfaces or put a piece of fitness foam squares under me to use it outdoors.Fitness clubs and gyms could have a lights out class.I have already written to the developer and made the suggestion that they have foam handles to make the experience more comfortable and they relate that there is a foam accessory. I would hope that in the future they are able to make the foam standard for the handles.After all, Rolls Royce already comes with comfortable seats.In the final analysis, expensive running shoes don't run for you, expensive exercise equipment does't work out for you. You do that, but, if you know the value of rope jumping to any and all athletics and want a high tech piece of equipment to help you with your jumping work out-the Smart Rope is the intelligent way to go.Please be aware that this particular advertisement is NOT for the rope that I own.
