TOPS Knives Mini Scandi Rockies Edition Full Tang Fixed Blade-Tumble Finish Blade Finish- Coyote Tan Kydex Sheath

First of all, I love knives and collect many. TOPS is one of the best brands on the market and this little knife is perfect for carrying around for all the little reasons you need a knife. You aren't taking this camping and using it for bushcraft, but you can still get some those tasks done as well.

Fairly expensive for what this is, but it's a great little knife. Excellent build quality. The knife arrived plenty sharp. With the blade thickness it should be plenty dependable, but I have yet to put it through extreme use. My only complaint is that it's a bit snug in the sheath. I would have liked a little less retention or different retention method to make drawing the knife a bit smoother. Going to have to modify the existing sheath or make a new one for my use.

What an excellent little knife. Pretty much everything I was looking for in an EDC. Great steel; I put it through it's paces and it's still just as sharp as when I recieved it. Very nice grind with a lot of finer control for wood work; it does everything I've asked it to and nothing more, which is very good. Sheath is half decent... I'd say too much blade retention (I'm not going to use it as a neck knife) and some other little nuisances, so I modified it quite a bit for it to suit my needs. All I need to do now is make my own kydex sheath that can reach most of the way up the handle, add a clip, and perhaps even cover it with leather and this literally will be an every day carry.

I have two other Tops knives that I really like (3 Pointer, Silent Hero 4), and was excited for this one, but it really fell short of the mark. Maybe it was just an anomaly…I don’t doubt all of the other good reviews as Tops is a solid outfit and my experience is great with other models. The knife arrived surprisingly dull and I really had to work it to get it sharp. It’s not an actual Scandi grind, so the grind angle was completely shooting from the hip to get right. I casually carried it now and again last year, but when my caping knife got dull at the end of deer season, I was going to use this knife to finish the last bit of a skinning job for a friend. Within minutes it was frustratingly dull again. I (finally) had it shaving sharp to start and minutes later I was rummaging though my pack to find a spare Havalon blade. Wish I’d had the 3 Pointer that night…it’s a proven for that job. Great design/size for casual use and EDC, but given I might have to put it to work, not the best choice for what I want to carry…this particular one, at any rate.

Great little neck knife, saw it on a Battlbox video with Currin1776. Knife came razor sharp and locks up tight in kydex sheath. Comes with a nice sturdy chain but I made a paracord necklace and added a ferro rod for fire starting. Would definitely recommend to others!!!

Love Tops knives. Unfortunately, this seller is not a tops knife dealer and though the price is nice. The knife I received had rust on the blade. I would recommend buying from BladHQ.com instead as they have the same price but are a verified dealer! I had to contact Tops for warranty on a brand new knife. It must have sat somewhere for a while to rust already specially since they oil their knives very well before they are boxed. Will not be buying from this again even though the product is legit. It's just not exceptable to be getting a rusty knife out of the box.

This is a cute little knife with a great blade and a well-shaped handle. My hands are medium sized, and I found this to be too small for me. It was returned for a Scandi Trekker which still seems like a small knife to me but one that I can actually grip during tasks. This Mini Sandi would be an awesome knife to introduce a kiddo to the world of fixed blade knives. It is great for people who like little knives for whatever reason. It is sharp, and the Scandi grind makes it perfect for fieldcraft and woodwork.

Wem es neben der geringen Größe (passt perfekt in die Hosentasche einer Jeans) noch maßgeblich um den Scandi-Schliff der Klinge geht, der sollte die Finger davon lassen! Dieses Messer kommt mit Hohlschliff! Wenn man das weiß und beim Produktbild dann nochmal ganz genau hinsieht, dann kann man das vielleicht auch erahnen, aber dazu muss man eben schon wissen was abgebildet ist... und wer rechnet mit einem Hohlschliff, bei einem Produkt dessen Bezeichnung etwas ganz anderes suggeriert? Ich jedenfalls nicht. Ich habe explizit nach einem Scandi-Schliff (bei einem Messer dieser Größe) gesucht und mich nur aus diesem Grund für dieses Modell entschieden... von daher hat mich der Hohlschliff definitiv überrascht, enttäuscht und verärgert. Aus Mangel an Alternativen und weil das Messer qualitativ ansonsten überzeugt, habe ich beschlossen es zu behalten und der Klinge selbst einen echten Scandi-Schliff zu verpassen. Fazit: Hätte die Klinge einen Scandi-Schliff, dann wären es 4-5 Sterne geworden, aber weil der Name irreführend ist und weil ich noch einiges an Arbeit reinstecken muss: 2 Sterne

I bought this as a little more low profile EDC and low weight hiking knife. Really like it. Nice and slicey, and theres no coating on it which is great (unlike other tops with their rhino lining coatings...). The handle is comfortable even though it's a 3 finger grip. The sheath is awesome, coyote brown kydex with flared grommets and really good retention. Id recommend for sure.

I've used it almost every day since I've purchased it. Solid, well built, sharp out of the box. Such an amazing little knife!
