I was told about this product from a salon employee. I am 65 years old so my hair has been thinning for several years due to menopause. When I started receiving testosterone as hormone replace therapy my hair really started falling out with male pattern baldness. This is caused by the testosterone turning into DHT. This shampoo has made my hair start growing back. ACTIIV recover protects the hair follicles from DHT but you need to use it every other day. Once your hair resumes its growth it is back on track. Your hair will not start falling out if you quit using the shampoo. I love this product and there is one for women but I use the men's since my hair loss is due to testosterone.

This works really well for me! After 1 bottle not even using it with every wash, even my hair dresser said my hair was fuller. Be sure to leave it on for at least 5 min for it to work! My husband is trying it now.

I have been using Actiiv products for about a year and a half now and have noticed a great difference in my hair's thickness and rigidity. I was starting to get very thin hair on the top part of my head within the past 5 years or so. Once I started using Actiiv Thickening Shampoo I noticed that not only did the thinning stop, but also some of my hair (which I thought was gone) started to come back. The tube of shampoo lasts me about a year... While the product is a bit expensive, it is well worth the price and thankfully my hair is thanking me everyday now and no longer is thinning like it was before.

I've tried several hair restoration products and this works the best. Has stopped hair loss and filled in a lot of the bare spots. Simple, easy and not crazy expensive.

My husband absolutely swears by this shampoo and condition. Now that he has been using it for a couple months I can absolutely feel a difference and his hair does look more full. Appears to be a great product.

This product arrived as the picture shows: no box, it wasn't screwed into the base of the lid, and no protection or bag - just this in a box. The shampoo itself is an opaque creamy smooth consistency, but the problem is that it carries no significant odor except that of moisturizing bar soap. I've used tea tree products all my life as well as exposure to lavender regularly. This smells like neither. Did someone at Amazon replace the real thing with a equal volume of dove soap priced at 5-10 dollars? That's what I want to know. It's only day 1 for me so too early to tell if it works but I can update this review over time. Update 1: (2 weeks) - ordered one more from Amazon and it appears to be the same so I presume it's the right product. Have been using it as instructed. So far no significant changes I can see but its early. Willing to try this as long as a couple months and we will see where we get.

I've used this for one full year, so I have to say this is a fair evaluation of the product. It did not promote growth of new hair, however, it did seem to make my hair grow a little faster. Sure, it smelled nice and made my hair look good, but my normal shampoo did the same thing. I have also noticed lately that my hair is getting thinner on top of my scalp, so I don't believe this promotes hair retention either, at least for me.
