SwitchBot CR2 Battery easy to change
Got this SwitchBot button pusher because wanted to put a button for turning on a motor inside my R2D2 - but it turned out had to put that button outside & therefore can be pushed with a real finger. Therefore keeping this switchbot as a backup to the other four switchbot button pushers that I have (two each for my two R2D2s). Anyways as you may know, these switchbots are powered by battery - specifically a CR2 3v battery - and that battery is very easy to change - just flip open the lid and change the battery. I would guess the battery should last like a couple years(?) but at least more than a year - and I would suggest to keep a few extra CR2 batteries on standby for eventually changing them out. Anyways these switchbots are very ingenuiously made for the very unique functionality they have to press buttons where you may not have direct access to. Very Good Value for the money paid. Thanks so much to both Amazon & Switchbot.

Perfect! One of the best Smart Home device that I have ever bought
It worked flawlessly in switching on/off my Power Amp (my power amp doesn't have a remote).... Build Quality: It is small, robust and very well built. It blends in well with my Amp...well camouflaged. It comes with 3M VHB double sided tape and stick well onto the rough/mate surface of my amp. Once stick on, it is not easy to remove. It comes with spares 3M VHB double sided tape too, in case you made a mistake and need to re-install it. The finger arm was strong and robust. Surprised to see that the SwitchBot developers could fit such a strong motor into a small footprint device and powered it by a 3V Lithium Battery (CR2). Battery life was superb too. I have a couple of the SwitchBot pusher. My first SwitchBot battery lasted almost more than a year before I need to change them. Setup / Connectivity: It can be setup as a single bluetooth device or connect to the Switchbot Hub. For my case, I have the SwitchBot Hub and it does wonders. Connection was easy, just pull the plastic tab (isolator) from the battery case, select Add device on the Hub and within seconds, my SwitchBot button pusher is connected! With the SwitchBot Hub, I could connect it to IFTTT. With IFTTT, I could indirectly linked my SwitchBot Pusher to my Smartthings Hub (by creating a Virtual Switch in Smartthings, activated through IFTTT). With Smartthings and IFTTT, I could then link my SwitchBot Pusher to my Logitech Harmony Ultimate remote control as well as setup various automation routine too. Just 1 trigger on my Harmony Remote, I could switch on my TV, Music Player and my "manual push button" amplifier, all at once. It works with my Alexa and Google Home too. It is not easy to find Smart Home products that are so versatile and can be easily integrated nowadays. After sales support and Warranty experience: My first gen button pusher encountered some problems with the fingers, I contacted their support through their Facebook page messenger. I got a reply on the same day. Showed them a couple photos and videos of the problem. After verifying the problem with their engineers, without much delay and no further question asked, they offered me a replacement. As I was located in Singapore and Amazon US do not ship to my country during the Covid-19 crisis, I am not able to get the replacement from Amazon US. I informed their customer support about my issues and they immediately made alternative arrangements to send me my replacement. I received my replacement in less than a week after informing them about my issues. Thumbs up! SwitchBot. You guys are great! Looking forward to more of your fantastic products!

Pretty good, but there might be better options
For nearly 4 years my garage door opener hasn't worked properly. It's an older model and it keeps getting unpaired with the remote. Garage door repair person said we need a new system, but we are going to remove the garage doors entirely in the next couple years so we didn't want to waste money. Welcome the Switchbot Smart Switch. Instead of paying hundreds on a new garage door opener, we spent around 30 or so for a swith to press the garage door button for us. It works pretty well. The app is not the easiest thing to use, but once you download it, the switchbot will automatically get detected as long as your bluetooth is on. From there, you can set up a password for it, then you'll need to input the password again it's set to connect to the system. At one point, something went wrong and I couldn't get it to connect, there's a little button on the inside of the switchbot to reset the bot back to default. I pressed it, but it didn't actually reset the password, but it did get me to a point where I could connect it back up to my phone. This is just a heads up, in case you do need to reset the unit back to default, you may need to hold that button a little longer, I'm really not sure since the reset didn't work for me out of the box. The second issue I had was getting the bot into position for my garage door button. I setup a metal bracket across the garage door opener, and zip tied the switchbot to it. Once in position, I activated the switchbot and a little arm swung out, but fell short of actually touching the garage door button. There is no way to lengthen this arm, so my fix was to take a small adhesive pad and cut it to size. Once I did that and stuck it onto the unit, I was able to have the switchbot hit the button, and the rest is history. It works like a charm, and I can open my garage door from anywhere inside and outside of the house, once again giving my garage door the functionality I had been missing for so long. Some other issues, though, you can't simply connect this unit up to alexa. The unit needs a switchbot hub, which is an additional cost. In the app it gives you the opportunity to turn on alexa integration, but if you don't have it connected to the hub, this selection is grayed out. That means that I can't tell alexa to open the garage. I'm not wasting money on a hub. The battery it uses isn't a common size. It has only been a few weeks of daily use and I haven't had issues with the battery dying yet, but I don't know how long it will last. So far this unit has worked for me, but there are others that have adjustable arms. Had I not found a fix to make this work, I would probably have returned it and gone with one of those, but I'm not going to complain. Just keep in mind what you're planning on using it for, and make your decision based on that.

This thing is awesome
All I wanted was to able to link my Chamberlain garage door with Android auto so that I could operate my garage door hands free when I got close to my house but was still outside of homelink RF range. The MyQ app isnt compatible with Android auto so i resorted to creating an IFTT scene however the security features of MyQ will only allow you to close your garage door and not open it. This totally solved the problem and all of the headaches. I simply attached the switchbot to an unused garage door clicker. You could just as easily attach to the wall mounted opener in the garage though. It was then super simple to create a google scene that linked into Android auto both with a voice command from steering wheel and also an icon on the android auto display on the cars main infotainment screen. Solution works flawlessly and I wish had just done this in the first place. Note that you also need to purchase a switchbot hub to achieve this result. The product listing clearly states you need a hub but I saw a number of negative reviews from people who didn't read that part. The hub is cheap and takes 30 seconds to install. Giving this product and solution a huge thumbs up. Updating review as just found another use for a second switchbot. My second scenario was for an oil filled radiator in my sunroom which doesn’t have a heating vent. What I wanted was very simple. A radiator to come on at 0600 and take the chill off while the main heating system was heating the rest of the house. Finding a smart radiator is next to impossible so I had to get creative. My first thought was to throw a smart plug onto an existing radiator that I had with mechanical switches but the mechanical thermostat was incredibly inaccurate. Next thought was to use same smart plug with a digital radiator I had but like most digital heaters in the event of power supply interruption they return to standby state meaning a smart plus was no use. Welcome switchbot #2. Simply attached the switchbot to the front of the radiator where the digital controls are so that it physically presses the power on button. Then added a schedule so that it turns on every morning at 0600 and off every night at 2100. That way I’m not paying to heat the sunroom all night long when then main house heating is set to a much lower temperature. The things are so versatile and really in bridging the gap where we are at the moment between some devices being available as smart and others not so much. Pretty sure that within a month or 2 I will find another use for switchbot #3

Useless JUNK!
The first one I got came with a drained battery and had no pull tab. Ordered a second one and purchased new batteries just in case. I was able to connect initially and then it just went downhill from there. I set up a schedule, tested a little bit pressing the button. Seemed to work with Bluetooth on and was very laggy with WiFi. But I though the schedule should kick in regardless. Next morning, I was excited to head downstairs and see my espresso machine preheated from the bot pressing the button. Machine lights weren't on...the parts were cold to the touch. I check the app and see nothing in the logs. I try to press the button and it just fails. I put in a brand new battery and tested the voltage with a multimeter...still nothing. The bot was stuck in some sort of battery draining mode. The green light was constantly on and the battery voltage was drained by the second (checking with a multimeter). I tried the reset button...still nothing. Searched around online and apparently taking out the battery, pressing the reset button and putting back the battery should help. And it did! I connected again, I tested the button press, set up the schedule. And what do you know? Back to Groundhog Day. I wake up, head downstairs and my machine never turned on. The hub was right next to the bot. I had the latest firmware. But, still couldn't work for the intended use. You can see my experience using the bot in my video. I have SwitchBot's thermostats which have been working but this device...is just junk. Extremely frustrating. Maybe the older models worked but not what's being sold now.

Works with Home Assistant
I love this device. I initially purchased one to automate the input button press on my RetroTink Pro. Then I purchased another to automate a light switch that cannot be switched to a smart switch. They work perfectly with Home Assistant. Make sure if you’re using it for a light switch to add it to the Switchbot App and change the mode. I will be purchasing more of these for other home automation projects.

NOT remote!
See below for my original review. I originally left a 1 star review as I felt the item title and listing did not accurately depict that this is not a fully "smart" object on it's own. It does allow you to operate the device within bluetooth range, but you can not operate it fully remotely, without either an additional device from the company or building your own and using their API. So rather than $30, you will need to spend $95 (at current prices on Amazon) to remotely push a button when away from home (or wherever else you are using the switchbot). Customer service reached out to me after seeing the original review and offered to send me, free of charge, the device that turns this into a truly remote button pusher. I received it promptly, set up was easy, and it works smoothly and as expected. The customer service rep also said they had made some changes to the listing to try making it a little more clear what this device can and can't do. I still think it's a bit confusing, and again, am disappointed the company does not make the Switchbot fully remote from the start, again, especially considering you can get smart outlets and lightbulbs that are fully remote, integrate with homekit/etc. for $10 or even less (vs. $95). I hope they can update this product in the future so that 2 devices are not needed to do what these other devices can do in just 1 device. ___ I assumed this would be like any other “smart” item where you can control the device from the app, wherever you are. Not so. This item should really be called “Bluetooth button pusher,” not smart button pusher. It ONLY works via Bluetooth. Meaning, it can only operate when you are in the vicinity of the device. If you are looking for something to push or switch a button remotely (in my use case- turning on a PC while away from home), as I imagine most folks who purchase this are- you’re out of luck. Turns out you must separately buy a $40 hub to enable that functionality. Or if you’re handy, you can program your own hub with a raspberry pi. But even that turns what should’ve been a simple, works right out of the package purchase into something a lot more time intensive. “Smart” lightbulbs, smart outlets, etc. are $10 these days and operate *truly* remotely out of the box. SwitchBot has no excuse for not doing the same for this device, and it comes off as a bait and switch by not being clear that this is merely a Bluetooth device, and forcing you to pay a total of $70 for the functionality you expected with the original purchase.

There is Still No Better Alternative to Old Reliable
I purchased my first Switchbot Bot back in 2021 so that I could automate my garage door (I have a camera in the garage to verify if it is up or down, and use the bot on either the push button in the garage or a space remote). It worked perfectly for this function at all three of my rental houses since then, allowing me to automate something that is typically not included with the rental, while easily removing it when I leave. Since I have a two door garage setup now, I purchased an extra bot to automate both doors, since it was simply the most cost effective, reliable way to do this as compared to doing wiring, installing other apps, or some other invasive install that I would have to remove the next time I move (I am in the military, so frequent moves are a way of life). It's a no-brainer since I already have a Switchbot Hub.

Can't recommend enough. It just works!
I've tried so many smart home products across brands. The primary issue I have is that they work MOST of the times, not ALL the time. If smart home (let's use SM for this review) products are not reliable, the whole value proposition is lost as it creates added stress and frustration as opposed to convenience. This product highly impressed me. I tried using it for two use cases - pressing the button on my white noise machine and switching on/off my geyser switch. It worked like charm for both use cases. Everything in the product is right - the adhesives are strong, the attachment for switch mode is perfect, and it works every single time reliably. I recently got the remote and paired it with the Bot. Works seamlessly. My wife loved the product but she didn't like the idea of opening an app to switch on/off something. The remote solved that and she loves the experience now. Few such products exist in the market that are of this good quality and work as promised! Highly recommend!
