Update 5/4/25 Continue to have issues with this and I'm going to go ahead and update my review to one star because I'm removing it from the truck and buying a rigid plastic one like I should have. I don't know if it was seasonal change or UV exposure but now it seems that all of the adhesive portions of this are discoloring on the exterior side. So now you can see where all of the adhesive strips are behind it which are not uniform and the discoloration makes it look bad. Updated with photos. You can see the discoloration around the entire perimeter on the top as well as the vertical bars behind the rubber along the front of it. Update 4/6/25 The adhesive has failed in the very center and it now has a raised ridge in the middle. It looks like it could be intentional and works to help with water run off. I tried to re secure it with silicone and also with double sided tape. Both did not work. This could be from normal stretching or the product relaxing over time. Original review below After reading the other reviews here about gaps and fitment issues, I did the reverse roll as suggested to flatten it out more from its state it shipped in. Installed mine in cold weather and rain, cleaned and dried the surface before installation. Use a heat gun to warm up the surface as well as the material itself while working the edges down and making sure the double-sided tape adhered properly. No gaps as reported by other reviews, just make sure you line up everything and work middle out once centered. Peeling some of the adhesive on each end to hold in place and repositioning as needed once you get close to the edges. If I have any issues with longevity this review will be updated.

Absolutely love this on my 4Runner! I do recommend letting it settle in the sun because it comes in rolled up. I ordered a hard plastic hood deflector at first. However after trying 2 times and both coming in broken in half (due to poor packaging on the manufacturer’s part), I gave up on getting one. Took a chance on this one and I love it. Application was easy and I go through a car wash in a weekly basis with no issues. I have received so many compliments! Definitely recommend!!

Giving this 4 stars because the underside adhesive leaves a white residue on the surface side for some reason(see picture) hoping VRP by Chemical guys will clean it off. If not for that—the price point, quality and look would have 5 stars outta me! I was looking at the hard poly plastic bug guards but the price point was stupid for those. Updating to 2 stars because: while it provides protection still—the whole thing was sun faded gray within the first 3 months. In the beginning it was gray(like in my photo) just over the adhesive points but then the whole thing turned that chalky gray. I have used Chemical guys VRP and a nylon brush to try to restore it and it does not change, it’s the material.

After a few months the sun will fade the black and there will be a outline of where the tape is

This hood protector works better than advertised. I had a huge issue with bugs finding their way to my windshield as soon as I got on the street. This all but alleviated that issue. Works with the rain by deflection almost over the car. Has held up very well. My only gripe is the discoloration where the double sided tape is placed. It creates lighter colored stripes on the protector. Unsightly! But no issues with performance. Not sure if its a quality or unaccounted for temperature difference issue. It has not shifted position or caused any problems. Otherwise, this is a very good product. God Bless!

Please don't give thid awful product a chance and waste your money like I did. Everything about it is awfult, and it WILL fly off your Jeep when the crappy adhesive ( That damages your paint eventually. ) becomes useless. Not to mention that the adhesive strips cause staining that somehow soaks into the rubber cover and becomes an eye sore as you can't wash it off. It's absolute trash, worst $50 I've ever spent. Buy one that bolts on.

a lil short on the end to end but rather than that nothings wrong on it more aggressive look on front end easy to install...

Double sided tape is not good it’s not hold well easily detached poor quality .
