The unit is very quiet when the air is reasonably clean. Some reviews indicated a long-lasting bad smell. I noticed a bit of odor when I first ran the unit. I suspect this is merely the smell that goes with new plastic. After a few hours the odor was gone.

It does an excellent job, the air feels very clean. As soon as there is any pollution, like frying or something similar, the numbers go up and it immediately purifies the air.

Airmega 450 is awesome. Got it to replace the 160 due to wanting more air exchanges per hour, and this thing moves a lot of air. On turbo, walking into the room, you can easily notice the quality of the air. Pretty large fan, crushes allergies, and at a 500 dollar price point I couldn’t be happier.

I ordered two units, but after testing just one and finding that the PM sensor was completely unresponsive, I didn’t even bother opening the second. It stayed stuck at "1" regardless of room, activity, or visible dust stirred directly in front of the intake. I contacted customer service, and they first said, “your home must be clean then.” When I explained that I had tested it with intentional dust exposure, they claimed the sensor needs to run for 24 hours to calibrate. That explanation wasn’t just questionable — it’s nowhere to be found in the official manual or documentation, which makes it feel like a made-up excuse. Worse, the rep became argumentative when I continued asking questions. Rather than offering to help troubleshoot or acknowledge a potential issue, they doubled down on dismissive answers. Returned it the same day. At this price point, a basic function like an air quality sensor should work out of the box. Very disappointing for a product from a premium brand.

Excellent air purifier and very simple to pug in and go! We have a new restaurant in our building at street level (NYC) and the food smell is very strong at certain hours of the day, this took care of the smell completely in a VERY LARGE space. The smell was leaching into furniture, but there have been zero smells since using this. You can't tell its running as its very quiet unless its on Turbo mode, which moves a ton of air quickly. I would imagine this would be great in an apartment or near a kitchen. Auto mode has been great with taking care of it. Easy to move around the space, but I've pretty much left it in one area. Keeping my eye out for the different types of filters or any filter replacement period, so hopefully those roll out soon. The machine has been running 24/7 for over a month and a half and filter is still at 85%. The unit is overall larger than I expected, but it looks sleek enough to blend in with pretty much any décor. Would absolutely recommend.
