my jar arrived with the lid loose and oil all over inside box. Is it safe to use? Is it eligible for replacement?

That's a shame.  I have actually started buying my jars though Costo online.  Much cheaper (less than1/2 the price) and jars have plastic sealed bands around the top.

how long can you keep this product once the jar is opened?

Karen, Thank you so much for inquiring about the Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes.  Our recommendation is that the product will maintain the freshness and red color in your refrigerator for up to six months from the date that you open the jar.  Please make sure that the oil level is above the tomatoes, even if this means adding olive oil to the jar.  When you are storing our product in the refrigerator, the olive oil will solidify and may form small round white beads or balls.  This is a normal occurrence, prior to using the tomatoes, remove from the refrigerator all to come to room temperature and the olive oil will return to the normal state that you are familiar with.
