Bought for my wife. She loves King Cake and she loves this stuff, so it gets five stars. As a gift, the first time was definitely a surprise. Does taste like King Cake (I personally do not like King Cake), Strong? Depends on how you make it. In her case she makes it mild and it is more than strong enough. Smooth? As expected from Community Coffee. I have drank a couple of cups, it meets the standard, I just don't like King Cake in general. But I cannot say it doesnt live up to what it claims to be. It definitely does.
