I would guess about 65% the diameter of a US dime coin. Nonetheless I've been able to run it across a floor under a rug from a spare bedroom and feel comfortable walking over it occasionally stepping on it and I think it can handle it as my other thinner HDMI cables have been able to for 5 years. I would have bought a fiber hdmi cable instead but I know it would get damaged with how I run it across a floor instead of in-wall installation.If you're measuring for exact distance like I did (to keep the cable as short as possible to reduce change of issues) add several extra feet for turning tight corners or wrapping it around into an HDMI port because it's not very flexible. I wish I would have purchased and tried the 40ft version instead but I opted to re-arrange a desk position in a room and get the 30ft cable instead to reduce chances of an issue. Monoprice employee's comment on their own website about this exact cable states these HOSS cables can support "up to" 50ft while supporting everything advertised. I really wish monoprice would certify those distances as I'd prefer to buy as long as possible a cable so I can rearrange my office and home theatre without worry of cable length... but there are many reviews on amazon of issues with even the 25ft cable, let alone the 35ft and longer.More specifics for those running the same hardware looking for a cable:This 30ft Monoprice HOSS Active High Speed HDMI Cable is delivering on what's advertised. I am connecting a 65" Q9FN Samsung QLED television to a Windows 10 PC with a Sapphire RX Vega 64 LC graphics card. I'm getting full 4k at 60hz, as well as 2560x1440@120hz and 1920x1080@120hz. The TV supports freesync ranges of 48hz to 120hz at 1920x1080@120hz and 2560x1440@120hz, and 48hz to 60hz at 3840x2160@60hz. Freesync is passing through cable without issue at the TVs supported ranges successfully. I'm also successfully getting RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard (Full RGB) and I can turn on Windows 10 "HDR and advanced color" without issue (cable related issues anyway - the Windows 10 implementation of HDR is pretty bad and drops brightness a lot). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Flicking happened but good cable overall *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 3, 2019* I use this 35ft cable for my receiver to 4K projector connection. My receiver is Yamaha TSR-5810 and my projector is Benq HT2550.The signal is great 99% of the time. However once in a while the screen flash, or should I say flicks.I used to use normal hdmi cable for 1080p application. After I upgraded to 4K, the 1.4 hdmi cable just cannot catch up, therefore switch to this active cable.Active cable is no different from regular cable except it is kind of directional. I mean there is one side for input the other side output. But it is still bidirectional for my other CEC hardware. For example, I am able to use my firestick to turn off my projector.The flicking screen do not happen very often. It happen once in a while, mostly at the time just right after my projector start up. But I am pretty sure it is the cable and not the project’s issue, since I used different cable before and do not have the same experience. Anyway, flicking never happen in the middle of any session when I use the projector. So I am still happy with the cable.The cable is transferring 4K signal, 3D signal and 1080p signal very well. I still think all video should looks the same if the digital signal go through. And I think this cable do the job. And I am suspecting the flicking is cause by the fluctuation due the it is a active cable, once it started up, it stay stable. I bought my first cable via Amazon and tested it upon delivery. It was replacing an Amazon Basics cable I was returning, so I went ahead and pulled it through the wall using the old cable so that it could be shipped back.Now that it was in the wall, I hooked it into the setup and found that while I could send a 4k 30hz signal, it failed when HDR was added, or if a 60hz signal was tried. I put in a replacement request on this cable, and had another shipped out. Upon receiving it, I tested it out of the wall first, and everything seemed to be working fine. 4K 60hz with HDR passed through the cable with no issues. I ran it through the wall once again using the old cable to pull it through. It worked fine for some time.After about a month and a half of use, I decided to try hooking up a PS4 Pro to my setup. I could not get a video signal to pass through the cable at all. I took the cable out of the setup (through my AVR) and hooked directly to my PS4 Pro, and I was still unable to get a signal to pass through the cable. I hooked the console to the TV using a shorter run Amazon Basics cable and everything worked fine. I then hooked this cable back to the AVR and was able to get ARC working again so I thought I would play with it again this morning to see if I could get it working in the ps4s safe mode and test to find where it fails.Unfortunately when I came downstairs this morning ARC was no longer working, and I couldn't get any video signal to pass through the cable. I hooked up an older cable, and everything but 4k worked fine. Swapped back to the HOSS cable, and no video, and no audio. The cable is dead. I contact mono-price directly, but unfortunately all they can do is send out an additional replacement.
