High quality great price
High quality the color was spot on the price was amazing I’m actually purchasing more now. The smell was everything I expected for leather if you know you know. Very easy to use with my sewing machines. And as leather goes it was very durable❤️❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful piece of leather at a good price.
Very pleased with the quality and price on this 12” x 24” piece. It was a true rectangular cut and uniform in thickness. There was enough variation in the pebble grain that I could choose exactly the look and texture I wanted for the two slip pockets on a travel bag I am modifying. The thickness was perfect for sewing on my home machine and was soft and flexible with a little stretch. The leather smelled great. I first went to a nearby Tandy Leather store hoping to buy locally but they had almost no selection of pieces this small and what they had was much more expensive. It was shipped folded but the creases were very soft and round and not a problem for this project. I rolled the remnant and I think the creases have already disappeared.

12" x 24" is perfect amount to re-upholster executive size leather desk chair arm rests
The leather piece I needed mine for is for an executive size office chair (12" x 24" cut) as I needed 6" x 12" for each arm rest. I just folded this piece in half and cut evenly in half. The rectangular shape you receive is a bit more than 12" wide, but is 24" in length. No worries that the piece you get is unusual cuts or anything. Just a straight 12" x 24" piece is what you'll get. but I understand the concern, as I thought the same thing. The leather smells and feels like genuine leather. It's not too thick and not too thin. I have a photo of what I was replacing it with. The old is on the left side and the new piece of leather is on the right in one of the later photos. It appears to be almost a millimeter more in thickness. However, due to the age of my old arm rest's leather, wearing down and shrinking from usage, it may have been the same as the new leather's thickness. The leather is not so thick that it isn't pliable enough to wrap-fold the rounded edges of the arm rests, it is firm but bendable to not leave fold marks too much. Being my first time, that was the most difficult part. I also use the scrap piece of trim for the underside of the arm rest from the old arm rests to keep it stable and hopefully durable. It worked, it's really strong and aestethically pleasing having a beaded edge look to it as it was before. Each photo has different lighting, night time when I was done and how it appears in tghe day's blue hue lighting so you could see the leather's color and sheen. The leather's sheen does match the unworn cushioned back side of my desk chair. These photos were taken before I got all the duct tape off and the leftover duct tape's glue residue that I hadn't cleaned off yet when I took these photos. Today is February 10, 2023 and the job has been done and in use for 8 days so far. Since reupholstering and cleaning the rest of the duct tape's glue residue, it's back to almost new looking again. The important part is folding over the rounded edges if redoing the leather covers on the arm rests and making sure you use the right size staples with stapler. I used a Stanley ProSharpShooter stapler and half inch/12mm staples, when I could have used 3/8" even 5/16" to staple the leather onto the arm rest internal boards. I just pounded them down with a hammer and checked to make sure they were stapled in firmly and not loose. My suggestion, just make sure to check for any welt impressions from misaligned padding or in need of a bit of padding, or staples, wood, etc., etc. on the exposed top part you're covering before stapling down your new leather. I do have one spot on my left arm rest with a bump, not sure what it is though, but the padding must have been worn. Hopefully this company will be around if it happens to wear down and come through. This as good as it gets though, for less than $20, and not having to buy some really expensive-not so good of materials type of desk chair they're out there selling now (but I do have an extra new desk chair now that I bought a new one from Amazon as I thought of this restore project AFTERWARDS haha) All in all, I'm glad I found this company on Amazon and was able to get the exact size I needed without wasting a bunch of leather, if it had been too large for my project. It turned out great and will last who know how many more years, maybe 5, 10 years? Thanks, Reed Leathers Hides. Now there's one less thing in the landfill and getting more use out of a completely perfect desk chair. I fully recommend this Amazon seller ✪✰✪✰✪

Nice quality product!
Love this product! It met 4 out of my 5 star needs. It’s quality, the right color, the right texture, the size was ok. Size could be bigger for the price. The one draw for me was I prefer thinner weight hides. When you are sewing this to something or making something it can be a bit challenging even with a leather needle.

Surprised and yet Upset
I'm leaving two reviews, since I ordered another product from this company. This is for 10 square foot, Brown. I'll review 12x24" black. Before I get into the good and the bad, my application is for rugged working and outdoor pants with leather butt and knee pads. Sewing is not "MY THING" but with the latest fashions and "looks before function" agenda, it seems I'd have to design and make my own clothes. Yes, even the local "workers and tactical" stores don't have rugged enough pants. So materials are a struggle for me, figuring out what is what, what is called what, and weights? Now leather. It's a truly educational experience. Anyway, after reading the description of the black 12x24, it seems all the 12x24 materials are 1.2-1.4mm thick and the 10 sq ft materials are 0.8-1mm thick. I ordered the black first and was quite surprised that it would make nice knee pads. But it wasn't enough for the butt panels, so I ordered the 10 sq feet of brown (change of color). I was skeptical because anything less than the 1.2-1.4mm would be too thin, but I ordered it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised that the brown was actually on average 1.25mm thick, at least around the edges. Now, I understand that leather is a natural product, so there will be variations in thickness, softness and color as you purchase from time to time. I think most people are missing this fact. However, the 12x24 piece should be thicker than the 10 sq feet piece, yeah? To my dismay, the previous order of 12x24 black is actually thinner than the brown, averaging about 0.9mm, which is thinner than what is advertised. Now, it seems the thickness is not based on the color, but the size or the cut of leather. So the 12x24 cut has become rather disappointing. Now, for color. Black is always good but black over any other lighter color makes the garment too... tactical (of sorts) and becomes less casual and you would get lots of looks, especially in todays' "fashionable world". I like rugged... but that's my opinion. The brown is more earthy and closer to natural, and you can still dye it to whatever shade you want... I'm assuming. By the way, I'm using the "suede side", not the smooth side. So, why only 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 stars? Supposedly this piece is 10 sq feet. I spread the piece out and measured a conservative 36x34", plus some wavey limby sections, but in all, this piece is closer to 9 sq feet than 10 sq feet. If the seller quoted as 9 sq ft, I would be ok, but since I was expecting 10 sq ft, it's rather disappointing. Cost: well, it does seem, like it's good value, from my experience, but that's not saying a whole lot. However, analyzing the cost of 2 sq ft as apposed to 9-10 sq ft, it's a wad of cash but you get better value by buying more. Hopefully, you get a thicker cut than a thinner cut.

Wonderful for book binding
used this for book binding to cover a hard back book. Worked great. Was thicker than most leather used for book binding but gave me a better-quality cover. Good, wonderful product.
