On the downside - it is heavy - for an empty bag. I mean even with nothing in it. The notches for use as a backpack are holed for a very tall person. Seriously tall. I immediately had to add some notches to be able to place it on a shoulder (or two). I would recommend the seller add more holes on the leather strip - not a really big deal - I managed to do this without cutting myself. Otherwise the leather is hard - I think it’s goat. All leather has some smell, even fancy shoes. However, the smell of this is not unpleasant in any way - at least not to me. I expect this pack will last a very long time. I mean years.....Overall exactly what I expected, it’s a great purchase.
