Does the job - works with Home Assistant too.
I bought one of these to automate the existing roller blind in a bedroom. The unit feels sturdy and build quality is good. Really easy to fix to the wall and connect up the bead cord. It was straighforward to set the top and bottom positions (hold the up and down buttons together to put in "learning mode"; then move the blinds to the correct position and quick press the up five times to store the top, press the down button five times to store the bottom position). I don't have an Aquara hub but I was able to pair the device with my Home Assistant hub (Sonoff/Tasmota) first time. After that I raise and close the blinds with Alexa, Google, Home Assistant or manually. Alexa raises the blinds automatically in the morning while playing "Here Comes the Sun". Cheesey and fantastic. I bought two more to automate blinds in my home office. The fact that they are battery operated and can be rechaged with a USB charger is a real plus - no unsightly wires being run to the window. Only downside is the price and lack of availability from the Aquara Amazon store. However Aquara were quick to respond to my queries about when stock would be available again.

Reliable, simple, effective
I bought 2 of these and was sufficiently pleased that I bought a third. We have them on 3 small but fairly heavy fabric Roman blinds that certainly need a good tug to get moving, but the motors are fine. Ours are integrated into Homeassistant via a electrolama ZigBee dongle and the connectivity is totally reliable. The battery state also shows up in Homeassistant and, opened and closed once a day, they are getting through about 5% battery a week, so will probably need charging every 3 months. As it may be helpful for someone, one of the blinds gets a lot more use and is conveniently close to a power supply, so this one is powered. The charging state is shown in Homeassistant and the external power is disconnected each time once the battery is back to 100%, so I feel comfortable that it can remain plugged in all the time without damaging the battery. The full retail price seems a bit high, and is expensive if you have a lot of blinds, so I waited for a special offer.

Does what it says on the tin
This product does exactly what is says on the tin. It opens and closes the blinds. The operation is a little bit noisy, but that’s to be expected and it’s not exactly fast, taking about 35 seconds to fully open my roman blind, although it is quite heavy. Battery life is good, lasting a good few weeks to a month. Setup is super easy, i wouldn’t bother with the 3M Sticky tape as it just ripped all of the paint off my wall and i felt it wasn’t as secure as the screws. It’s a slight shame that you have to buy a hub to go with it also as that’s another add on to the price, but hey ho. Setup in the app was very easy and quick, also integration with alexa was very easy and quick. There is a slight delay between asking alexa and the motor moving, but nothing too major. One thing to note is that it has to be tight on the chain of the blind, otherwise it will catch on the plastic cap and pull it off. This is a good product, slightly pricey for what it does but worth the investment for a luxury room. My only option as my roman blind fabric didn’t come with an automatic version.

Excellent Devices - works on vertical blinds
Excellent product. I researched a lot before buying and choosing a product. Very pleased I picked these. I purchased two and they are working fantastic with my two vertical blinds. Open and close to the opening I set. The hub works perfect and the app works really well too. It took me a little while to figure out the settings but once you have done this it’s easy. Even once you have them setup you can go into the settings, clear the config and reset the blinds if you want to. I used the sticky pads to fix mine to the wall and works well. I have no noise with mine but I understand what others have reported. I do believe the noise can increase if you set the tension too tight. So it’s a case of trial and error. I had mine slightly loose and then just cut the cord accordingly one ball at a time until I had it perfect. You can buy the cable ball clips for about £2 on Amazon. I would not hesitate to buy more. The hub supports 128 devices. Oh and I love the automation. Both my blinds open and close at preset times.

Super easy to install, smooth quiet blinds - just make sure the blind itself is not worn out
The perfect blind motor - come with adapters for different cords however the standard one fitted my blinds perfectly. These work with Google Home ("Hey Google, open the blinds"), and you can adjust the speed. These are exceptionally quiet motors, most negative reviews seem to come from the blind mechanism being noise - it is probably worn, to reduce unwanted noise you can grease the pin end of the blind (not the pullcord side! - do not grease that) , and sometimes it is worth buying another pull cord assembly if years of yanking on the old "manual" blinds has loosened the mechanism (as had happened to my large blind). This is more than capable of raising my 200cm x 120cm blackout blind however it does use slightly more battery, battery life in general seems very good so far and charging couldn't be easier.

Really good! Until it wasn’t 😢
Really good! Until it wasn’t. Bought two of these, one failed within 2 months and the other is still going (less than a month old at the time of writing). When it was working, and for the one that is still alive - Integrates with our homeassistant setup fine, not too loud, holds connection well. A bit of a faff to set up but nothing too difficult once you get the hang of it. The one that failed simply ‘died’ - unresponsive buttons and no longer talking to homeassistant, but would take charge. Returned to amazon all good. But disappointed it didn’t last long, a real shame for saying how nice a quality item it is and not cheap either! Here’s hoping the other one doesn’t give up soon too! Update March 2026 - Aqara were really helpful and did a partial refund on a replacement. Other blind motor still going well, new (replacement) installed this week and working faultlessly. Fingers crossed for no more failures, I’d like to get more for the rest of the house!

Can’t wait for v2
The product serves three stars but since it’s still the best out there for the blinds - one extra star so you lot get something that’s even worse. Installation is easy and I didn’t even screw it into the wall - just used the Command double sided stickers. The built quality is inconsistent as the body of the devise seems solid - the cap that hides the chain is very cheap feeling, looking and sounding. Speaking of sound, the motor is not loud do the point it’s disturbing but yes, you can hear it regardless of the speed setting. And speaking of speeds, I keep mine on max speed as the sounds it gets from it is a small trade off cause slow and quiet is a lot slower than quieter. I would hope that v2 would have a rounded bottom too in order to prevent the blinds bottom getting stuck under it - it’s happing more often than not. And the mentioned cap, the previously mentioned cheapest feeling, looking and sounding part on the device - that needs to be completely decanted and you’re left with a big hole so your chain doesn’t get stuck in it and rips it off. Again, a v2 suggestion on this would be to design a cap with pre-made massive hole and just make that hole a bit tidier and don’t pretend you’re leaving to the users to personalise it cause we know it’s not working. It gets a lot cheaper than what I got for but for me it’s worth it. It works great with Apple HomeKit, when you have their hub (sold separately, duh!), in automations and commands.

Ottimo acquisto

Works great in Smartthings (at least till now)
This is a neat and easy way of automating any roller blind shade. You don't need to pay a fortune to buy the motorized roller blinds that are too bulky and limited in size. I have it on two blinds. The motor is strong enough to even operate the long and wide (180x210cm) blind.

They work very well with the Hub M3
These Blind controllers have worked very well. The batteries lasted 8 to 9 months. But the curtains would be opened and closed about once or twice a week. They aren't very noisy, but you can hear them functioning. The opening speed is fine too. All in all I'm very pleased with them. They work on beads and normal cords with no beads. They do rely on the M3 hub to work as I have described, with no issues. They connected to SmartThings too if you want, through matter. The setup is easy. Once the Hub is installed on your network and the curtains too you just need to select the option on the hub third party matter ecosystem. Read the provided QR code and that is it.

Easy to install
I was skeptical at the beginning, but it was simple to install and the 3m adhesive works like a charm no need for drilling in concrete (in my case) The tricky part was to manually set up the close and open position but it turned out to be simple, just follow the instructions in the manual guide. As an advice, if you have Samsung smartThings setup you can download a community driver to control and automate the curtain open and close without the need to buy an Aqara Hub.
