I have a battery powered one, another brand, for my front door. Every couple of months I end up replacing the batteries. Saw this and thought I would give it a try as I needed a "call bell" for my wife. She has a medical problem so she spends a lot of time in bed. As I suspected, the push button can be attached with screws and double sided tape, provided, if you want to do that.I plugged in the bell part downstairs and placed the button upstairs on her night stand next to her bed. I explained how it worked to her.If you notice in the picture the front of the bell part has a blue colored spot. This is a light that stays on and when the button is pushed the light flashes and the chime/tone plays.It works exactly as I thought it would and my wife is very happy not to have to yell to get my attention.There are many different kinds of music/bells/greetings. Some in English some in ???I would buy this again and would recommend it to my friends.

Life was good, my girlfriend and myself just moved into a new apartment and our things were settling into place. Then after missing several packages at my new apartment I realized I didnt have a doorbell. I had received some slips for the post office and even fedex saying they would attempt to re deliver or I could pickup my item at the post office, what a pain. Who has time to wait in line at the post office, it is always so long anytime of the day. Re delivery didnt help because there was still no doorbell to ring!Another issue I encountered, plenty of stolen packages. Even with a sign that read, do not leave package on front step, it still happened with every major shipping company. I had numerous packages stolen, even stupid little items like a hard drive enclose case. It was time for a change.I do live on a second story and the doorbell worked like a charm. Easy installation outside with the adhesive and the receiver simply plugs into the wall socket. I did add a little superglue to the backside of the button itself outside just to be safe it would not fall off. I did not know how the button would fare in rain, snow, sleet, and hail but we had no issues at all. The receiver was plenty loud enough for the entire apartment, even scaring the cat a few times. If you are the adventurous type, there are plenty of jingles and typical doorbell ringers to choose from.Fast forward a year later and surprise we moved again to an even bigger apartment. Same situation again, NO DOORBELL. Luckily I pulled the doorbell off the old apartment and easily reinstalled at our new place.Friends, family, and most importantly, our mailman can still reach us!

Update - 3/3/16: I was contacted by the seller after posting my problems in this review. Even though it was out of warranty, they worked with me to get a replacement. New unit is now installed and working properly. I'm throwing some stars at this review, not for the product specifically, but for the customer service.Original review:I bought this item 1 year ago, but it only lasted for 6 months. Initially, I would have to unplug the inside chime from the wall to 'reset' it every couple of weeks. Then it would work for a while until it wouldn't. I wouldn't know until someone stopped by and was forced to knock. Finally after 6 months, it died. I replaced the battery in the transmitter with no success.I did like the unit when it worked. Chimes are crisp and loud, and volume control works well. Maybe I bought a dud, but I'm hesitant to buy another.

Easy to install - clear volume on the various ring tones - and there are quite a few choices; pretty much as described. I have need for a different tone from each of two doors so I bought two and located one of the plug-in powered units in my front room and adjusted that volume for that area. I placed the second chime in the room where I spend most of my time (kitchen/family room) and adjusted volume for that. The beauty is that even with the same ring tone, I can still tell which door it is because of the proximity of the sound to where I am. Of course, I didn't choose the same ring tone because I like playing with the sounds and can change them easily but I still don't have to remember which tone is which door because the chime's location tells me. I've only had these for a couple of months so as far as durability, I cannot comment; I may update after the winter has passed. Both of the doors are in a semi covered area -- one has an extended eave overhang and the other has a wide (48") and fairly deep (36") overhang.

Took about a month for one of the two ordered to burn through a set of batteries. Now it burns through pair of batteries every other week while the other is still on original batteries? I've bought multiple brands of batteries. After about 1-2 weeks it'll start chirping until I change the batteries. I assume something is defective. Will likely have to throw away one of the two.Doors get low usage and are engaged every night and never false alarm. Not sure why one wants to be the drain.I haven't contacted company because it took about 2 months to realize something was up.

I love this doorbell! I don't have anyone to help me with things around the house. So it's so great when a product I buy works and is easy to install. You will need to open outside doorbell compartment (I used a kitchen knife - NOT sharp - to open), remove the battery and discard the piece of paper in the battery compartment, then replace the battery and securely close the compartment. Plug the receiver in any regular electrical outlet. Rather than use the two tiny screws provided to install the outside doorbell, I used the sticky paper, also provided. Just peel the yellow paper off both sides and you're ready to mount the doorbell. I checked out all the ringtones, but the first one was my favorite - short & simple. The directions on this website plus the questions and answers make installation a lot easier than the packaging. The translation from Chinese to English on the packaging leave a lot to be desired. Again - the product is great and installation super easy.
