Product Description Botan is an extra fancy Calrose medium grain rice grown with the rice fertile soil and crystal clear water of California. Its tender texture and delicate flavor make it versatile for all cuisines. Enjoy Botan, one of JFC's longest selling and reasonably priced rice products. Directions Rinse rice, then combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed. This is a great dinner rice, pairs well with a wide variety of foods and sauces. This is one of my favorite all around rices. This is factory packed in a plastic bag, sealed well with no leaks. The rice is pearl-white and clean, not at all dusty. Price is good for five pounds of rice; I was pleased to find this here on desertcart, my local supermarkets do not even carry Calrose rice.

good value-priced East Asian-style rice
Medium-grain rice is what you usually get in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean restaurants. Botan-brand rice is grown in California to USA quality standards. Botan is one of the cheaper brands that you will find at Asian-American grocery stores. Quality, flavor, texture is good for the price and it is fine for family meals. The cooked rice is fluffy and moderately sticky, so is easy to eat with chopsticks. 5 pounds does not last long if you eat rice regularly. Quality and flavor is essentially the same as the Nishiki-brand rice that Amazon also sells. We buy whichever one is cheaper.
