I have the tactical solar MIP version and I absolutely love this watch. It gives me almost all the features I need but the battery lasts me a solid 3 weeks between charges, even wearing it 24/7. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how configurable the MIP screen is. My old Samsung watch was functionally inferior in every way other than the pretty screen, and still needed recharging every 3 days. If you want a serious health and fitness watch with exceptional battery life then I can highly recommend this one.

nice watch, great MIP display, I really like the flashlight, and the lack of touch screen. it is chonky af (my wrist measures 135mm) and I'm happy with it. pretty comfy with a custom watch band that I also got from Amazon. need to go hike or run to test it out, but I'm couch potating right now just doing Amazon reviews 😂

The Garmin Instinct 3 Tactical Edition is an excellent watch overall. It delivers everything you’d expect from a rugged, outdoor-focused Garmin device — reliable GPS, strong battery life, tactical features, customizable profiles, and a lightweight, comfortable design that disappears on the wrist even during long workdays or workouts. Performance-wise, it’s fast, accurate, and consistent. The solar charging capability is a great bonus if you spend a lot of time outside, and the interface is easy to navigate once you get used to Garmin’s button layout. For fitness, job-site use, and daily wear, it’s genuinely a powerhouse. The only area worth calling out is the display. While Garmin markets the durability, the lens can scratch more easily than expected. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something to be aware of. I would strongly recommend pairing the watch with a quality screen protector right away to avoid unnecessary marks and keep the display looking new. Aside from that, this is a fantastic watch with impressive functionality and rugged performance. If you take the simple precaution of adding a screen protector, the Instinct 3 Tactical becomes a truly reliable and long-lasting companion for both work and training.

Great watch. I’ve owned all the instinct tactical series. I read the reviews about the battery and I don’t have that issue with mines. The best way to update these watches is by computer. The watches are saying that they have been up to date but they really are not. To make sure you actually get an update is to download garmin express on your computer. The app on the computer will update the watch soon as it’s connected. Once you unplug the watch, the watch will update itself. It’s really simple. Far as the size, I never had an issue and my wrist is small. Plus I’m used to wearing my fenix seven pro and other big garmins. Compared to the rest of the instinct tactical series, not much of a difference besides the screen and a few more apps. Other than that I would recommend “IF” you wanna spend the extra money. Also screen protectors don’t fit for some reason so I used one for my other watches.

I went from Tactix 7 Pro Solar to the Instinct 3 Solar Tac 50mm and am loving its utilitarian nature. For a watch that is $1100 cheaper you get all the same functionality (except for maps) in a package that is substantially lighter and has over twice the battery life. The display is also much easier to see in direct sunlight. Very impressed.

Tengan cuidado por qué no especifica la medida del modelo si es 45mm o 50mm, en mi caso me aseguré de preguntar a atención al cliente y me asegurado. Que el que me iba a llegar era el de 50mm, a decir verdad para el precio que pagué 11,300 pesos mexicanos la calidad no lo valen, aparte de que el modelo que llegó de 45mm ni siquiera alcanzaba a mostrar el texto completo de algunas de las opciones del reloj, super mala calidad, mi primer producto Garmin y quizás el último considerando el rango de precios que manejan, quizás los modelos de arriba de 20 mil pesos valen más la pena, pero dios santo este instinct 3 en 45mm no pagaría ni 3 mil pesos, hoy el mismo día que lo recibí lo devolví.

THIS IS AN AMAZON ISSUE. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH FROM AMAZON. I bought two of these from Amazon and both were defective. First watch box was tattered and was obviously an open-box. The face sticker was not put back on properly showing me that the watch was previously bought/used and re-sold. Both watches had the same issue of not holding battery emptying at about 5 min from full charge. Returned both watches within two hours of receiving. Both software versions were incredibly old. Second time I called and spent an hour with Garmin Tech Support who said the watch was defective. I am now buying directly from Garmin to see if this is endemic
