neck decompression made easy!
As someone with a herniated disc in my neck, I was going to PT and a Chiro for months and using a decompression machine. I was looking for a long-term sustainable solution at home so I could continue to decompress my disc without the Chiro visits and costs. After one use of the neck hammock, I can say that this device does what it says. It is not quite the same as the professional decompression, but definitely gets a similar relief to the neck area and can feel the pressure release for sure. Excited to add this to my at-home care routine!

Easy to set up, traction is light
I appreciate how easy this is to use, although the printed instructions donโt clarify which direction to orient the brace to your head (needed to experiment to figure out which side was meant to face front/back). The hammock is attached to a strong elastic band that flexes to allow your head to float. Itโs easy to adjust higher while lying down by pulling a nylon strap. I found that I needed to scoot my body once my head was in place in order to get traction, which is really mild based on the elastic give. Once I found the right elevation for my head and angled distance from the anchor point, it felt great and was very relaxing. Still not the same pull you might experience by a practitioner holding your head and neck, but still helpful. Two things to note: if youโre using a door handle as the anchor, make sure to remind others you cohabitate with that youโre on the other side (to avoid sudden loss of tension or a door opening into your head); also, remove earrings before using (the hammock presses firmly against your ears). Iโve already used this for travel and it was handy to decompress after an extended period in the car.

Worth every penny
6 years later (yes 6) and this is still the best $50 I ever spent. Use this all the time. Take it with me to travel. It has done wonders for my base of skull, neck and (even a little for my jaw) pain. 100% recommend give this a try. Great quality- has held up perfectly. If I lost it I would repurchase immediately. It's that good.

Kind of disappointed
I like this product, however I am very disappointed with the quality of this item. I've had it for 2 weeks and it's already breaking. That's the bad part of it. The good is that the concept is great, I currently have a herniated cervical disk, and have another month before they can get me in for an injection. This device is the only thing that gives me pain relief at the moment. There is definitely merit to the purpose, I just wish the quality was better.

Itโs all about the placement !!!!
If you return this item or do not like it, honestly itโs all because you donโt know what youโre doing with it! This is the best purchase ever and Iโve actually got two of them! The biggest trick is to figure out how the heck to tie it to something! I will give you the best tip ever if you donโt have a giant wrought iron bed like I do then hereโs a good tip. I actually strap mine to one of my exercise bikes and lay on the floor on my yoga mat and just keep pulling my body backwards.! it doesnโt really work as well on door knobs because it just seems too high I think and I donโt really have a door knob besides my front door that would hang onto it. The padding is awesome as long as you have figured out where it needs to go on your head and then you tighten the strap in the middle to help hang onto your head while youโre pulling. I have a different brand that hangs over the door, but hurts my face so badly just like all of them and this is the only one that will not hurt your face! Iโm putting an example for all of you people that donโt have good reviews or have actually returned this. The photo that Iโm attaching is probably not the best equipment because if I put it up higher, the whole thing will come and smash down on my face so it better be something thatโs not going to tip over on your face! I only weigh 115 so the placement of this is really not going to pull down this equipment. I have pets so I donโt like cat hair on anything so I put it back in itโs little bag after Iโm done each time.. . Just remember when you get it on, just keep slowly scooting your body the other direction and I can feel it all the way down my spine this way. If I had a person to be able to pull it, it would be nice as well, but this works perfectly.!!!! I can also have it in a convenient place and I will be taking it to the Physical Therapy I have to go to because another Physical Therapy is the one that suggested this.!!!!! Hope this all helps everyone and I was utterly shocked when I saw returns because Iโve had my other one for over a year and it still works great! Honestly, the manufacturing should give some more examples so this is not a returned item because I donโt know why the heck you would ever return this thing!!!!!

Worst Fear Realized - Extremely Dangerous Product!
The very FIRST time I used this, 20 seconds into using it per the instructions, the strap broke, my head smacked the ground, the plastic clip that spaces the two straps apart struck the bridge of my nose, and the straps struck my eyelids all with such force that it dazed me for few seconds. Just from where the straps struck me I continued to ache for the rest of the day. Just before this happened I was thinking, "wow I really hope this thing is well made or its going to snap and hit me in the eyes." Luckily I had JUST closed my eyes while attemping to 'relax' into it, and I am extremely fortunate to have thick carpeted floors or I would have been concussed worse than I was. I have suffered from several concussions and whiplash events in my life and I am extremely vulnerable to them now (hence why I bought this product, looking for head and neck pain relief to begin with!!) I am also extremely lucky it didnt break my nose or take out an eye (my worst fear in life). I don't know how I missed so many 1-star reviews all saying the exact same attachment point failed and this happened to them! This thing is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It's criminally negligent for them to not over-engineer the potential fail points for something with such a high risk assigned to it in the first place, but then with so many reviews all saying this exact same thing, they know about this issue and they continue to still sell it as such, knowing people are being severely hurt by it!

Relieved neck and jaw pain
I had used up my chiropractor benefits for the year and my neck and jaw were causing problems. Bought this and have used it four times already, twice a day. It has alleviated a lot of pain and I actually feel a bit taller after using it. I plan to make it a regular part of my fitness routine stretch after working out. Very comfortable.

Good quality. Need instructions.
Just got it a few days ago, so have only tried it a few times. Seems to be good quality, but comes with no instructions. Found info on YouTube, however, it only shows attaching it to a door handle and laying on the floor. That can be quite difficult for some, as I have found. (Double knee replacements make it difficult to get up from the floor) I was able to attach it to the headboard on the bed, and that works. My chiropractor suggested that I try the item.

Lack of a hammock cradle to hang traction device
Whilst the theory behind the Neck Hammock is sound, it is let down in its practical application by the lack of a metal cradle or stand from which the hammock can be attached and hung. It is acknowledged that the hammock can be hung from a door handle or railing however a practical and suitable location which is without impediments is sometimes difficult to find to effectively hang the hammock from. The availability of a support in the form of a cradle or stand would overcome this problem and make the product far more user friendly and ensure the device could be used from any location. Interestingly, a cheaper knock off or copy of the neck hammock has such a supporting cradle and it is easy to see that it is far more user friendly and practical than the neck hammock which does not have a similar support or cradle available.

Not as durable as expected
Works well. The stretch bands starts giving way after a month of usage. Worried that it may snap eventually hence had stopped using it.

The pads at the temple and nape of neck need to be removed
The pads in the hammock create pressure that is not comfortable if used according to the manufacturers direction
