I just purchased this 13 pound bag at our local Walmart and paid $12.78.  Why is Amazon so expensive?

NOTE this date: 2013?  NOW,  in So Cal, in early 2023, I have searched local stores for over 1 year, for competitive pricing for THIS Naturals series, since all our tame and wild animal friends prefer these flavors above any other brands. All types of Cat food have been absent from store shelves,  for weeks at a time, and thus I prefer Amazon ordering as a subscription/saves much frustration, and I have not been hit with higher prices HERE vs THERE, but, yes, I have to often wait, frequently sold-out, and such is life today.  And we all see the costs of all pet food soaring in our urban region, so try not to fret. Focus on, and Love the good things in Life. God Bless All, namaste (AND You humans, please go VEGAN, if you think you LOVE ANIMALS!!!)

Is this a 3 or 6 pack of the 3.15 lb. bags?!

They're very misleading; the lure is the 13-lb bag (currently showing $19.14) with free Prime shipping, but they purposely leave some info out so you get a box of six (6) each 1-lb bags. I can't speak to the larger "packs" of "4 each 3.15 lb bags", but I'm trying to contact the "seller" about the (purposely-vague) labeling data, as I had to contact Amazon support about the discrepancy. Thankfully Amazon took care of it, but the seller has yet to "correct" the labeling of quantity and weight.

I was interested in reviews for the above purina product, cat chow naturals, original.  the majority of reviews refer to purina cat chow gentle.  why?

Gosh, I don't know. My cat is a real fish lover and prefers the Purina Naturals to anything else. Also, her cat doctor was impressed that a food so reasonably priced contained such a high percentage of protein.
