Does anyone have long experience? How is the quality?

I don't recommend this one, broke after 5 weeks. Foam inside is torn... I've had the newentor topper for 3 months, it's much better, both sleeping comfort and quality!

Does it get too soft? Because of back problem I can't sleep too soft

Then the topper is absolutely not for you! I'm 160cm and 55kg, lying in a hollow, sent back immediately. Now i sleep on newentor topper, it has 2 layers and not so soft also not so firm, very happy with it.

I have a new Orthopaedic mattress which is too hard. Would this topper help at all please?

Yes, it would. I bought a new mattress that was a bit hard for my back and this does the job perfectly. I absolutely love it.

This looks pretty thick - is it really going to fit into a washing machine?

It's thick but the air pockets allow it to compress so if you squish it up it should fit in a standard washing machine. I have the king size and I can just fit it. I"ve had no problems washing it.
