Wish I had purchased earlier.
I've always used a GPS rangefinder but decided after several years of looking to go this route. I researched and listened and finally decided to spend more than I really should a purchase the Coolshot Pro. I wish I had purchased it much earlier. It is easy to use and works just as detailed. I was worried about my hands shaking a little trying to hit the flag but NO problems at all. The only mistake I made first round and it was all my fault, I was reading the slope distance as actual distance because it was much larger in the screen. I haven't used the "scan" feature as much as I thought I would except when playing around with it. I just haven't really had a reason to. I think this is a great device and would purchase again, only sooner.

Stop waiting
I've waited for years to buy a rangefinder with image stabilization and I wish I hadn't wasted all that time. Played with it on the bag this week and couldn't believe how fast it picks up the area, snaps into stabilized mode and nails yardage. It's so fast and easy it had me thinking I must have messed up. This is so cool it's surreal. I happened to catch it on sale for just over 300.00. My spouse was planning on getting it for me for Xmas but when I saw the discounted price, it was a done deal. This is game changing fast and easy. Just play around with it and you'll figure it out pretty quick if you've ever owned a rangefinder before. Stunning how much it stops my shaking and let's me zero in on the pin. My old finder was only as good as my tremor, which can be annoying. This Nikon doesn't care, it just locks and stops, unbelievably fast. STOP WAITING!! Thank me later.

Great rangefinder with one minor flaw
This range finder is great. Its compact, the stability feature makes it easy to use with one hand, and it picks up yardage very fast. I would give it 5 stars if it wasnt for one thing. The mode button doesnt really have any tactile feel to it. You dont really know you are pressing it unless you look in the viewfinder and see if something has changed. Its weird because when you press the pwr/measure button, you can definitely tell that you pressed it but you cant tell with the mode button. I dont know if this is a defect with my unit or if they are all like this. If it is just my unit then I wonder if Nikon would allow me to trade it in for a new one.

Best rangefinder I've used
I was on the fence as to whether it was time to update my bag with a new range finder. I spent the summer paying attention to what my golfing buddies use and even tried out a few products at the pro shops. I had concluded that paying extra for slope adjustment and stability control was unnecessary, at best, for a weekend warrior such as myself. Boy was I wrong. At the recommendation of a friend, I took the plunge and purchased the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized rangefinder. While I'm an average golfer, the stability control and slope adjustment have made a big difference in my confidence and course management. I've taken approach shots that shoot 150 with a regular rangefinder, only to find the true distance is 165 with slope factored in. For me that's the difference between a birdie attempt and trying to get up n' down to save par. These opportunities add up over the course of around. What before seemed like an unnecessary expense is now a luxury I can't live without. I would recommend this product to any golfer interested in improving their game and course management. Ty G

A very nice unit, but not for me
I purchased the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized primarily because of the image stabilization function and Nikon's reputation for great optics. The unit worked very well and was easy to use. My only complaints about the unit are that it was very lightweight and didn't feel rugged. Hence I was worried about the durability of the unit. The unit's glossy white plastic cover appears like it will be prone to discoloration and scratches. I returned the Nikon unit and purchased a Bushnell Tour V5. I prefer the Bushnell because it is a bit heavier, has a rubberized and dark matte finish and fits well in my hand. Optics on the Bushnell are comparable to the Nikon, though without image stabilization. I have not had any issues with shaky hands and being able to acquire a target with my Bushnell. I suggest if you're in the market for one of these two rangefinders, to go to a local retailer to look and feel each in your hands.

Image stabilization works as advertised.
I'm really enjoying using this unit. Works well and fairly quickly. Takes a little getting used to, but worth the effort. Much better than non-stabilized range finders from competitors. For me, given that the Coolshot Pro has all the important features of other units, AND most importantly is motion stabilized using Nikon's vast experience in this jitter removal technology, this is a superior choice for range finding. I recommend it.

WORKS GREAT! Read the instructions first before using the menus! The case is flimsy.
A little tricky at first using the mode menu. It is best to read the instructions first! The diopter adjustment was stiff at first (I was worried it may break.), but it works fine now. Other than that, a SUPER GREAT rangefinder! (Once I figured out how to use it). I can't wait to get it out on the course. One suggestion: Some kind of vibration resistant case to protect it while bouncing around in a golf cart between holes. The case that comes with it is a little flimsy. It should have an ant-slide rubber shell with a well cushioned but durable lining.....

Awesome rangefinder
I shopped around and did plenty of research. This Nikon is great. It works perfectly and is very sturdy. It does not attach to a golf cart (no magnet), but the carrying case is good, which I attach a carabiner and a retractable cord, so I never lose the case/rangefinder.

Rapport qualitรฉ prix moyen

Stabilise feature well worth it.
A bit more expensive but the stabilisation feature for an old git is more than worth the extra.

Stabilization a must-have, speeds play.
This was the first rangefinder I have purchased, although I wouldn't want one without stabilization. The stabilization allows me to get readings quickly, so I'm not standing up there for 15 seconds measuring. The carrying case that came with it is very nice, has a magnetic button, a sturdy caribeaner, and a belt clip that allows you to put it on without taking your belt out. I use the belt clip, and wear it during my rounds, I think this is the best way to play with it. My clubs may be 16 years old, but this rangefinder has really helped me understand how I hit each club. Great investment, and it's increased my enjoyment of the game, especially on unfamiliar courses.

great product
Product is excellent, stabilising feature does what it say! Carrier case is is not good and one could lose a very valuable piece of equipment because of it. for the cost of the range finder one would expect a better quality carry case.
