You only receive on size 8 paintbrush. I was surprised at the price. It is a very good paintbrush that appears to be real sable. Sable is the best material for watercolour and this brush is excellent. I don't know what they are like for oils from personal experience but they have a good reputation. It does not leave any hairs on the painting. Good quality.

When my brush arrived the plastic protector had fallen off in transit and bent the tip of my brush. The end was hooked before I got to use it even once. The handle says it's synthetic despite the listing saying otherwise, and I can absolutely see that is the case, although it is the professional line. I attempted to reshape the bristles to no avail, and when using the brush it is difficult to control due to how bent the end is unfortunately. It would be one thing if the bristles were all bent in an even way, I might be able to work around them; however even when wet they splay out just enough, that its made this brush useless in the specific purpose I bought it for. Especially with how much detail I like to do. It does fine painting loose with lots of water, but I also already have enough brushes that serve that purpose, and that I prefer over this one. I would suggest a more foolproof shipping method, even just wrapping the plastic bag its shipped in around itself more tightly, maybe taped, so the plastic that's meant to protect it stays intact to do its job. The photo I've included is the what the brush tip looks like when wet with water.
