Carageenan can cause intestinal issues and hydrated silica is abrasive to tooth enamel yet you include these ingredients, can you please explain why?

Carrageenan (seaweed powder) can cause intestinal issues if eaten raw in large amounts similar to how yeast can cause intestinal issues if eaten raw in large amounts, but that does not make bread with yeast dangerous.  When mixed in the proper amounts and used in a toothpaste application, carrageenan is a safe and natural ingredient.  Carrageenan is rated "1" (safest possible) by EWG which rates ingredient safety.  Other toothpaste uses xanthan gum (fermented bacteria), but we prefer to use seaweed powder instead of fermented bacteria to thicken the paste.  Lastly, the primary function of toothpaste is to remove the plaque, since plaque is what causes cavities, so you need toothpaste to be abrasive otherwise it's actually not doing it's job.  It's important for toothpaste to be abrasive, just not Overly abrasive, and Davids is in the sweet spot of being safe on the enamel, but abrasive enough to help remove the plaque.

do you make a tooth paste without any mint flavor that burns the mouth, its impossible to find toothpaste without mint flavoring?

The majority of toothpaste includes an ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) which is really just liquid soap that causes the toothpaste to foam in your mouth, but also causes a burning sensation in the mouth.  Davids does not use SLS, but instead uses a more mild foaming ingredient derived from coconut oil that does not burn.  Many that were unable to use a Peppermint toothpaste with SLS find that they are able to use Davids with Peppermint flavor because it does not burn the same way as most Peppermint toothpaste. What percentage of nano hydroxyapatite does your product contain?

Please know that a toothpaste with 10% hydroxyapatite (no we don't use 10%) can be more effective than a toothpaste with 50% hydroxyapatite....depends on the type and grade of material being used for it to be effective. We do not disclose % as this is proprietary information to our formulation, and does not provide any meaningful info to how the toothpaste actually performs. The 3rd party lab testing we did shows that we outperformed all the leading competitive brands of hydroxyapatite toothpaste submitted, and most effectively repaired the enamel to help reduce sensitivity. Ive seen reviews saying its too abrasive and caused major damage to teeth, bought, but hesitant to try. could u disclose the grit of the abrasives?

Please know that one of the most important functions of toothpaste is to remove the plaque, since plaque is what causes cavities, so it's critical that toothpaste is formulated so there is enough abrasiveness to remove the biofilm/plaque, but not overly abrasive to avoid damaging the enamel.  The American Dental Association (ADA) developed an abrasive rating system, known as the RDA rating, whereby any toothpaste between an RDA score (level of abrasiveness) of 1-250 is considered safe on the enamel for daily brushing.  Davids toothpaste has an RDA rating closer to 100, so well below the max. 250 considered to be safe, and in the sweet spot where it's not under abrasive or over abrasive.
