Question to anyone with the steel thermos version of the Technivorm Moccamaster - do you find the coffee is tainted by the stainless steel?

The best coffee is fresh coffee, so although the thermos is very well insulated, the flavour does alter over time. I wouldn't say it 'taints' it though. It really depends what you want to use it for. If you want to take your time and having a few refills, then go for this. If you will drink it quickly, stick with the hot plate version (auto shut off after 20 mins). On weekends if I want to make a larger pot with my hot plate version, I pour some in to my own thermos to keep warm for later and drink the rest fresh from the glass carafe. Please note the opening of the thermos on this version is narrow and difficult to clean.

Will this coffee make still work if i leave it on the on persition and have a seperate timer?

Yes. But even better to put it on a Smart Plug and then you can control it from your phone too.

Can you only have the metal jug with the white model? Also how much coffe can you brew in mills?

You can also buy the KBG 741 in white metallic with a glass jug. With both machines you can brew 10 cups of coffee within 6 minutes (1,25 L).

Does this machine have a timer facility? Ie can I set it up in the evening for the brew to be ready when I wake up?

Hi, no it doesn’t. You can set it up the night before to be ready to switch on tho. It only takes 1 min to brew a pot. Great machine!
