The products don't seem to be anywhere near as earth-friendly as they used to be.** A: The EWG "D" rating for environmental concerns was posted in 2016 and this question was posted in 2017 for the liquid in bottles. The preservatives in the "Free & Clear" bottle continue to be petroleum-based and two plant-based ingredients (enzymes) may be allergens--so don't get this stuff on your hands, rinse your clothes well, and use as little detergent as possible. Personally, I use this liquid laundry detergent almost exclusively and find it very effective; however, as with all HE machines that rinse with 2.5 gal of water, I need to add 2.5 gal to the rinse cycle and rinse multiple times to get most of the suds out--even using less than the one ounce dispensed by the eco-dispensing container. **Q: Is this any safer than tide** A: Seventh generation is way safer than Tide. Tide has been on the Procter & Gamble boycott list since the 80s for causing cancer. Residue is left behind on your clothes which your skin absorbs and takes it right into your circulatory system.
