It DOES have a dimmer for brightness control and trimming the strip is very easy. I feel like people are selling similar products so they buy one of the competitor's and leave a bad review. This strip looks great on top of my blinds. It's super basic and ugly to look at but the lights are great. I use one for my computer desk and I have hung one under all 3 of my kid's beds for night lights. However, the instructions are horrible. The instructions say to cut the wire and fit it on your tv, however it does not tell you to bend the wires in a 90 degree angle until atfer you cut it.
